Better consistency and faster delivery. He's got a decent OL that IMO by year's end will be better than last year's.

In that regard, Anchrum has been noted to be practicing at RG. If Edwards continues to be inconsistent at LG I could see Shelton replacing him. That would probably make Anchrum the swing OG/C.

OL and DB competitions will be interesting to watch this TC. If they sign a QB at the beginning of TC as many teams do, it could mean bye bye to Wolford. If they elevate Perkins to #2 Wolford would have to be carried on the active 53 or released as he doesn't qualify for the PS. That camp QB would then become the emergency QB carried on the PS. It's time to let Wolford go. He looked like a real JAG last year. Perkins has better length, arm and legs.

With Stafford's arm going to be a legitimate concern they can't go into the season with Wolford at #2QB. Perkins is the better option. There was a reason they signed him.

I didn't think Edwards was that bad. The whole line had trouble with the run blocking. Their pass protection was solid for the most part. Hopefully they work on improving that run blocking. If Akers can have the kind of year we know he's capable of, that would sure make life easier for Stafford. And he's already good even without a run game.

I don’t think that the importance of this being Stafford’s 2nd year here can be overstated.

It’s just huge and I think Stafford’s just getting warmed up.

I sincerely think that Stafford might have a career best season this year.

Does anyone else just really fucking love Matt Stafford?

He's dangerously close to being my favourite ever player.

Oh... I definitely do.

I have been a fan of his since he entered the league. I have a family member who is a diehard Lions fan and we always watch the Lions game together on Thanksgiving.

Not to mention... my Mother's maiden name is Stafford. I bought her a ladies Stafford t-shirt as soon as we landed him. I bought one for her sister too! They think it's the coolest.

So Hell Yeah! I was on the Stafford train 13 years ago and now I almost feel like I'm driving it. LOL

Went from being against the trade and a doubter to totally fucking loving this guy. Warner’s title as my favorite Ram QB ever is in serious jeapordy.

Yeah... my little brother went to GA Tech so I was required to hate him when he played for the bulldogs. I knew he was a badass then too though.

I definitely do. I was probably the only Rams fan that wanted the Rams to draft Stafford back in 2009. I'm so glad we got him now. Been a fan since his Georgia days considering I'm a Notre Dame fan. I have a football boner just thinking about It I'm so psyched. FUGG YEAH!!

I see so much more potential this year because Stafford is in year 2 and not learning on the flu. Hill is back and knows the defense, Morris is in his 2nd year and is very comfortable like Stafford with his Defense. You add Bobby Wagner to replace Von Miller and we get him for and entire season which we didn't have with Von. Plus we have Allen Robinson one of those superstars hidden in a really bad offense.

Barring major injuries we should make it to the playoffs and a deep run. This team imo is way more poised to be successful this season than last and one of the biggest factors is that they have already done it and now believe it is possible. Lastly I feel the NFC is not as strong as the previous year because of the star player defections to the AFC.

Yeah, pretty much any Rams fan would have given a thumb for Stafford when he was drafted. It was never an option. We ended up with Sammy the Sleeves a year later.... Ah well. Whatta ya gonna do. Alls well that ends well!!

He's easily my favorite Rams QB ever.

EASILY.
He's definitely approaching Kurt zone with me. I don't hold anything against Warner because of how he was dealt. The thing for me is Warner not only got us our first SB but came out of NOWHERE to do it. His story is just too great.

I can't help but like Stafford and always have. He's a total stud and I'm stoked he's our QB. He may very well finish as my favorite QB of all time.

I love Stafford. One of the best looking releases I have seen in this league. Keep him healthy, and keep your other studs off the police blotter and you have the makings of something special in Detroit for years to come.
While we're all patting ourselves on the back, haha. That's from August of 2012. I was wrong about that team ending up special, but I stand by the comment about his release. Ten years later and it is STILL one of the best in the game!!!

The way Stafford & this Rams team won those 4 games to hoist the Lombardi! OMG! 3 total nail biters and to steal the souls of Tom Brady & the 49's and to execute that no look pass and big balls 4th down Jet Sweep in the SB. This championship for me, was even more magic than the Kurt Warner season as the Rams had minimal pressure in 1999 and also a bye week for the playoffs. 1999 will always be super special, but 2021, with all the pressure to win by the sports media doubters due to the Stafford trade, all the social media doubters, the Rams put their money where their mouth is and then won it all, in SOFI! Again, more pressure, you have to win at home, right? One of the greatest and most exciting post seasons of any NFL team ever. Stafford has won my heart & respect. Just a legend.
