Looks like my 2001 Silverado has decided it want's a new engine. I can't drive it now for fear of further damage to the block, like a connecting rod being thrown through it!

So I call bubba and told him. He feels bad for me and my wallet! But hey, I love this truck and knew this day would be coming...just not this week! @bubbaramfan really doesn't want to go it alone and I can't blame him plus, the drive with all that traffic is brutal!

So I still have tickets for next Monday, Wednesday and Thursday if anyone wants or needs them!

Again, I'm so sorry we can't make the rest of training camp.

Sorry too guys. If the drve wasn't so brutal I'd go it alone.
Hopefully they'll have the new facilities done in Thousand Oaks by next TC. There's some good camp grounds close by. I'll tow the car so I can do a commute. Loyola MM scks for fans. Horrible venue. Hard to get in and park, not much room in the stands, no shade.
Sorry about your rig VRF.
After one practice I'm convinced this team will go deep into the playoffs!

Sorry to hear about your truck. Hopefully you're able to get the repairs done and get another 25 years out of it.
We will find a way to rally around any TC reports we get.
Thanks Dave. I don’t think you ever saw my truck. Here’s a picture and maybe you can see why I want to keep it going. Besides higher insurance rates and registration fees is one reason to keep her. She’s super clean.

Absolutely Nothing to apologize for. I appreciate everything you and BubbaRam have done.
I am so sorry to hear about your truck.

If I were a man of means I would do whatever I could to expedite the fix.
It's a very sharp looking truck, right down to the color.

I had a 04 black Trailblazer with low mileage, that I loved dearly.
I loaned it to my son, for a couple months. Annnd.
He apparently forgot Engines require oil. despite my repeated pleas
to check it when I loaned it to him.

I hope you are up and rolling again a.s.a.p.
And once again Thank You for everything you and @bubbaramfan have
done for us. You guys are the best!

Unacceptable

Kidding.

I recently had an issue with a My 2008 Sierra…I had to put a 13k engine in it only to have that engine seize up about a month after the warranty on it ended…

So I basically lost 13k and sold the truck as is for $2500

Yes your truck is very clean, I dont blame you for wanting to keep it. They dont build em like that any more.

You have absolutely nothing to be sorry for. The fact that you went even for one day shows dedication and is a tremendous insight to all of us.

Again, nothing to be sorry for. Here's hoping you get your truck fixed, not for training camp, but for life in general; my family knows how much taking care of an older car eats into a wallet.

Thank you. I had already planned on putting 20k into this beast before I retired. Like an old sweater or a pair of shoes that you feel comfortable with, hate to part with them.

That’s the key, these GMT800 series trucks are solid. YouTube mechanics love their ease of maintenance and reliability.

Now that would piss me off!

Thanks Coach. I’m constantly on my daughters behind to take care of her suburban. She’s in Mississippi so it’s not like I can just drive over to take care of issues

Always appreciate members posting from training camp. It's a bonus not an expectation. Grateful you share. Sorry to hear about your truck. Hopefully, you find a solid solution.
I got a plan and thanks for the kudos

No worries Gentlemen. All of us love our Ram brothers in arms and wish @VeteranRamFan truck a speedy recovery.

The good news is your truck still has a sbc engine, plentiful
Are you planning on pulling your engine and rebuilding it or buying a crate engine ? I am a car guy and build my own engines so I would build it. I have heard a few horror stories like Hit Stick posted so you need to do your due diligence.
Those are good trucks. After 2008 or so they started making the trucks way more complicated just to squeeze a tiny bit more MPG out of them. Like dropping cylinders cruising down the highway, its nuts. That feature has a issue and your truck is dead. Same thing with your alternator not charging with highway driving. That chip has a problem and your truck will not start !
Simple is good.
I drive a 2007 Tundra Limited TRD with only 100K on her. Just got it re painted.(Black) last truck I will ever buy. They are known for going 500K, even 1,000,000 miles. Toyota has bought two of them back.
The tags in CA are crazy too. That thing is still nice so fix her up I say.
I paid 32 K for mine in 2008 and a new one like it is near 80 K ? Nope.
And the new Tundras have that stupid twin turbo V6 POS engine that are blowing up right and left. The new Chevy trucks are losing their engines at a even higher rate. LS engines are not indestructible like some say.
Toyota stupidly listened to idiot car-truck review guys who called the 5.7 I Force engine "dated". It was the largest, highest tech gas V8 in trucks. Went a million miles and made 387 HP. DOHC Hemi and they replaced it. dumb.

Kids. lol.
What made it so bad is that my trailblazer was a o4 model- the and the motor was blown in 2021'
