This asshole threw a large rock at an endangered Hawaiian monk seal named Lani, who is known and beloved by the Hawaiian community, nearly killing her (and her condition after he threw the rock at her is concerning locals, so she's not entirely out of the woods yet), and said that he's "rich enough to pay any fine, so I can do what I want". Some amazing Hawaiian citizen beat his ass and received an award for it - and I'd personally love to have five minutes with him myself with things that miiight involve a blow torch and pliers.

He owns a shipping company in Kent, Washington, and I hope he gets the maximum sentence of two years and a $70,000 dollar fine, along with his company going up in flames and earning the hatred of everyone with a heart. Despite my normal personality on the boards, I'm not into cancelling people for various malignant behaviors...but this asshole deserves nothing less.

Bastard was a complete asshole.

I really hate rich people who think they can get away with anything.

Doesn’t take money to act like an entitled, inconsiderate asshole but yeah, this dickhead should have a special place waiting for him.

Apparently the locals that beat his ass were saying things like they didn’t know who did it but it could have been me. I just don’t recall. I love that he got his ass beat and still faces charges and that it seems law enforcement is apparently shrugging its shoulders.

Oh, law enforcement (and likely a fair few locals) knows who did it; the guy who kicked the bastard's ass got a letter of recognition for his actions by one of the two state Senators with his name anonymous and saying "Mr. Ambassador of Aloha" instead. The senator himself all but said, "We don't normally recognize acts of violence with letters of recognition, but we feel the rich asshole tourist deserved the ass-kicking". It's just that they're cheering that the man beat Lytvynchuk's ass to a pulp, and they wish they could've been there to do the same.

He'll be lucky to make it out of Hawaii in one piece, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving asshole.

Pretty interesting to watch the videos of this incident-- both of the idiot throwing the rock, and also the local guy who punched him out.

I'll really be interested to see if the douchebag tries to press charges against the guy who punched him.

My take: the guy will suffer PLENTY. Yes, he's a stupid, uncaring, arrogant douche. But karma is biting him back real hard.

Good luck getting any Hawaiian court/grand jury in the state of Hawaii to indict the guy who punched him; I'm pretty sure every one of them wish they were giving him an ass-whooping themselves. I know there are a fair few members of this forum who have lived in Hawaii (including our very own @Selassie I ), and from everything I've heard and seen in news, the locals have zero tolerance for the people who screw with their land and the wildlife there - and even though I'm a St. Louisan, I'd feel the exact same way if someone came into my home state and fucked with the natural land and flora and fauna there.

And yeah, the guy hasn't even gotten the biggest absolute bitchslap of karma headed his way. Not only is he very likely going to serve two years and pay a potential $70,000 fine for what he did (if you add his treading over both protection laws for the Hawaiian monk seal that his harmful actions fall under), not only is his name, company, and everything else about him all over the Internet (and in his company's case, getting all kinds of bad press that will likely sink it), but he'll be serving his sentence in Hawaii where even the inmates care about the land and the wildlife there and don't tolerate asshole tourists fucking with either of them.

He'll be lucky if the worst that happens to him is that his business goes under and being publicly shamed and hated for the rest of his life; what's more likely to happen is that his ass is going to experience the mother of all ass-beatings while he's in jail - and if not, it'll be because he'll be in solitary. For two years. Twenty-three hours in every day in a cell by himself.

He's going to experience a karmic hell on earth, and he'll have earned every bit of it.

This was all all over the news, disgusing.
Best thing that can happen is force him to stay on the island until his case is settled. I would think that would probably do the trick.
