So one thing to consider here too is how many teams actually own the stadiums they play in? The answer might surprise you.

Five teams own their stadiums

Rams
Patriots
Panthers
Packers
Dolphins

The rest are owned by Cities, Counties or stadium authorities.

Part of me also wonders why the NFLPA has never made a push to force the league to go grass. I'm sure if they were willing to sacrifice something in the next negotiations they could get it done. If they really wanted it.

Is it resistant to neighbors who do not weed and take care of their lawn? I really just need to take my neighbors’ man card.

Hey, hey. Don't you hijack this thread pal. That kind of talk belongs in my "Landscape Losers" thread. :sneaky:

I can see an economic disaster, off converting to grass means only NFL usage during the season. I'm sure the revenue loss from other events would be prohibitive... The owner has to make a return on that stadium investment....
Well in most of the cases, the stadiums aren't owned by NFL owners so then it's only tax dollars. You know.... not REAL money - so.....

Does Si Fi''s roof let in enough sunlight for grass to grow ?
They should have pushed a bunch of games to the L.A. Coliseum. Its grass and they could stuff many soccer hooligans in that joint. All soccer deserves.

Paging Elon...
If you have a couple of hours tomorrow -- can you rough out a design that meets every ones facility requirements and still allows for natural grass at NFL games...

I know you can do it... :woozy2:

This thread does concern me regarding Australia.
What are the turf standards for cricket?
Im sure its not made to hold up to giant NFL lineman.
There were field issues the first couple of years of European games if memory is right.

The mcg prepares the field for cricket after the afl season has finished, which is late September. Drop in, ready made pitches are installed.

So the field will be like any other football field when the Rams game is played.
