All Super Bowl losses hurt, it's that simple. Rams are now 1-3 in Super Bowl and I need them to get back to .500 before I determine which one hurt the most.

Well, none of them will hurt if the Rams win two in a row to get to .500....
Now, airman....I want the truth!

I’m honestly a little shocked by the numbers here. It’s easily 53 for me cause we practically completely shut down Tom Brady and the patriots offense, something few teams have done in the last 20 years, and were let down by our historically great offense

Plus there’s always the cheating excuse to fall back on for 36. But 53 there’s nothing to say except out coached/played
Interesting.
For most of us, the fact that the Patriots cheated their way to victory in 36 makes the sting much worse.
But for you it lessens the sting.
Weird.

Pretty sure I said in October of '01 that even as the "Patriots" were struggling that there was no way in hell any team NOT named the Patriots was gonna win the Super Bowl.

It was marketed like the Patriots were 'Murica and any team that beat them hated 'Murica.

It was a cynical cash grab that made it super easy to cheat because 1) who's gonna be against being for the Patriots after 9/11 and 2) the Rams were an upstart, serendipitous team with the most hated owner (between the owners) and so elevating Kraft over Frontiere was too easy a decision.

Was it fixed? Nah, didn't need to be. Martz played to exploit mismatches within the rules. Ernie Adams and Belichick figured out that they reffed the Super Bowl like the Pro Bowl and exploited the rules. And they cheated with taping signals, so it was possible to win by cheating without it being fixed, per se.

And that loss was devastating because a 2nd win in 3 years would have set up a dynasty, would likely have squashed the Warner/Martz feud about any injuries and maybe stopped out decline into one of the worst teams of all time over a decade in the modern era.
36 was definitely fixed. I don't believe the refs "let them play" excuse. The officiating was overtly in favor of the Cheatriots. I believe Belicheat was told by the NFL how the officials would call that game and that game only. In a game which the outcome can be determined by subjective penalties over any disparity in talent it is more than enough. I do believe the Cheatriots illegally taped the Rams 36 walk through practice also. The double whammy proved to be just enough.

I believe the NFL burned the tapes because proof of the NFL's complicity in fixing 36 would have been the result.

The "Murica" angle is an interesting one and certainly rehabilitated the term "patriot" from it's disparagement throughout the '80s and '90s but it wasn't operative. Neither was Boston being the departure for two of the 9/11 hijackings though it certainly made for a half time show. I'd believe the Frontiere angle though.

36 hurt the most. I’m also the age of the Super Bowl. 14 hurt but at 14, I was proud we played well against the vaunted Steelers. As a Freshman in high school, an alumni from my school- Lynn Swann, also played a big role in the game. Bitter sweet.

36 hurt because it was a game we were SUPPOSED to win. Embarrassing loss. But an alumni from my high school- Tom Brady, played a big role in the win. Bittersweet. Well much more bitter. Like a turd Sundae with a Tom F*ckin’ Brady cherry on top.

Then, at 53, I was sure my Rams would send Bilicheat and Brady into retirement and we laid an egg.

Ah. Let’s face it. All losses suck. Especially when served a turd Sundae.
