I’m so sick of this whole thing and now there’s some kind of confirmation bias that the Rams didn’t belong in the SB which is why it was one of the worst ever. I even heard Goff called McVay’s puppet, and now to top it all off PI can be challenged.
Payton has been crying about this since it happened but I had hoped it would go away. Last few days it’s resurfaced though, I’ve heard many talking heads preaching about “getting it right” , but there won’t be any more challenges than before so I assume they will review upstairs in the last 2 minutes or something. So we’re going to go from fallible humans to the 100% reliable and definitive replay, decided on by some anonymous individual who we never see. Looks like the nfl will be the only sport in human history where mistakes and oversights don’t occur.

This whole thing is driven by the outrage that Drew Brees was robbed of his chance, that was the storybook scenario, nobody seems to care about the blow to Goff’s head or the lack of one to Brady’s.
So now what? I mean what is pi anyway? There is contact every pass play on both sides, what about Hail Marys? It’s like rugby.
One thing it might do is increase scoring even more, if you’re behind in the 4th just throw it in the end zone as often as possible. You’re bound to get one eventually, save your challenges for the 4th. And does anyone really believe this is going to solve the issues? Wasn’t replay supposed to fix things when they introduced it, it hasn’t. Are things really better than before replay, there’s no perfect angle and someone’s going to get robbed no matter what. How long before everything is reviewable, I would love to see fewer penalties, like in the playoffs.

PI being challengeable doesn't help the Saints lol. No call should still be no call.

If and when the NFL ever starts to allow coaches to force reviews of non-calls looking for penalties, I will terminate my viewership. I'm serious. For me that is over the line.

Personally, I hope the Saints lose a game or two because of this and end up missing the playoffs.

Why pass interference, but not holding calls?

I hate the Saints crying... but

I have long thought PI should be reviewable... It's such a huge penalty, (call or no call).

I don't enjoy where it's coming from - but I do agree with the concept.

Can we get rule changes outlawing fans bringing & using their own whistles when our offense has the ball ... so we can actually hear ourselves think? And can we get the 'Nawleans' Whistle Monster to be officially tarred & feathered and forever barred from attending anymore NFL games?

I agree with the concept I just question how to make it work in practice.
The db may have interfered but before that the wr pushed off to get some separation. And if you use super slo mo you see the little forearm all receivers use to get space or the way the db gives the jersey a little tug and can you just look at all 3 or 4 or 5 receivers on any given play to see if you can get a call? I heard someone say it’s to keep egregious mistakes from happening, ok, so what’s egregious and who gets to decide.
Well, the Rams non call decided the game, they say, I think that’s a cop out. If LA scores a td instead of a fg on the Goff no call how is the game different. There’s a lot of little plays that really do influence the outcome and I don’t think we can review them all.

Fine if they review PI. But do they only look at the end of the play or do they look at where the WR pushes off first as well? Seriously, I believe many calls will wind up offsetting if they review it fairly.

Or what about AD getting his facemask grabbed on the play with the PI in question with NO? That doesn't count because nobody so it or bothered to call it?

I see horrible last two minutes of games.
Everything being reviewed.
Only d PI will be reviewed I'm sure. Blantant push offs wont be reviewed.
Plays reviewed right as teams are trying line up and hurry up.
If there is one thing the history under Goodell has shown us, the NFL will make this worse.

I can see it now. The Cheatriots will be down 2 points with seconds left in the game. Brady throws a Hail Mary in the end zone where there is always PI on the last play. Beli-cheater will ask for a review and based on the rule, PI will be called. The Cheatriots will get the ball on the 1 yard line, kick a FG and win on the last untimed play. The rule will be rescinded the next season.

Holy crap. Didn’t see this coming.

My initial reaction is to think it’s a mistake... so many games will now be decided by a subjective review by one official.

I’m willing to keep an open mind though, hope it works out and doesn’t backfire.

Excellent point. Almost every single pass play involves a borderline judgment regarding DPI. Are fans gonna whine about every single call that didn’t go their way in the last 2 mins?

The sport is losing its 'flow'. Idiots.

They would have lost a game against the Steelers and we could have won our game against the Eagles had this rule been in place last year. Saints will likely end up having this bite them in butt, but many teams will. Won't be shocked if it doesn't stick.

How about uncalled facemasks? You know, like the one that should have been called on the series before, giving the Rams a 1st down on the one yard line? How does 7 points instead of 3 points after that? Fukk the Saints, sideways.

I'm glad. If true, we go undefeated, and win the Superbowl by 3 TD's....

There's your problem right there. I haven't tuned in to any nfl shows since the superbowl and i haven't felt better. I feel so good i may never watch another show again. Why should i aggravate myself watching idiots yapping about stuff they have no idea about, that is, football.

I can’t wait for this rule to go into effect.

We will just challenge the non calls for holding Donald whenever we need to close out a game.

Also, wait till non call for pass interference away from the ball gets challenged. People will realize quickly that this new rule is a ridiculous idea.

I think now non call PI is reviewable .Read that last night, mentioned cooks play in the endzone of the superbowl would of also been PI and put the ball at the 1 .

I don't like it at all
