Just finished streaming a Netflix Russian language (with subtitles) dramatic series about potential robot & human interactions. Not as sophisticated as most western TV series, but worth the watch. Good plot lines and acting with an interesting subject about a future which might not be as distant as we think.
For those of you who enjoy foreign films and can handle subtitles, it's called 'Better than Us'.

So I will ask the question nobody has asked yet.

Does the robot have good pussy?

"The eyes followed me. Her severed head with short ash blonde hair, was splattered by a white
viscous substance. The beige comforter masked the volume of the white liquid, except when contrasted against her glistening body. It twitched and died. Light filtered through the blinds, revealing the murder scene.

I panicked.

Her mouth spoke unheard words as her blue eyes considered me with an awful intelligence. I lifted the antique sword and her eyes followed its arc. It came down hard with a meaty crunch. Her eyes no longer regarded me, as they stared into the distance."

(Start of a story about one man's killing of an AI sex doll, assassin robot.)

But the argument could be made that the user isn't just looking for a sensation and to get off but for the "with another human" experience. The robot doesn't really provide that, but with an entire body, face, voice, etc it's closer and it's easy to see that just getting off isn't enough. They want to simulate the human to human intimacy. If that's what they want, it implies that the partner isn't enough or good enough. I could definitely see someone getting upset about that.

I have known people that didn't want their partners to self-service at all. It's all about what upsets your partner and what you're willing to put up with from your partner.

I’ve known women to lose their crap up to and including violence at finding out their man had porn mags. So, yeah, some will find a human avatar more than an issue and others won’t care at all. It’s really going to be an individual thing. Some would never use any kind of adult toy and other have a closet full.

As others have mentioned, how it is used matters. If it’s a “fill in the gap” solution (so many double entendres), it may be less an issue than if some middle aged person drops big Benjamins on a young hottie/movie star model and it becomes a replacement.

By the way, I called buying Apple stock in 1995 right before Jobs came back when it was $18.75, architected the world’s first Mac based render farm and called the 2008 market crash in late 2005.

If anyone has VC money, there won’t be a better yield if you pick a winner than sex robots. Not even AI will outperform it.

If I find a company that I think has the right tech and vision (understanding all the “I’m not a financial planner, never invest money you can’t lose...yadda, yadda), I’ll link it.

Also, there’s a FAR more complicated and nuanced application that has potentially profound possibilities wrt sexual dysfunction as well as the treatment of both sexual dysfunction and disorders.

It’s pretty dark and very complicated and likely would offend some folks religious, moral or political attitudes, so I’ll leave it out.

The sex robot thing is going to be a BIGGER deal societally than pron is now, by a lot...

Or at least until the hottie robot misses her warranty service date by a day or two, develops a glitch and chews your peter off.

I think affordability will be the crux. Internet pornography can be had for free. Most people can't justify forking over 20 K on a sexbot.

I just think it's sad and a sad commentary about where we are going as a species. Glad I won't be around to worry about it. Or too damn old to care....

Depends. It's one thing to fap to a video versus having a very accurate physical analog.

I think they will end up being like cars. Some will be customizable and others will be "celebrity" endorsed.

The example I used is Scarlet Johansson. If she were to have her full body molded and release a full body AI-enabled sex robot, they could charge a premium, especially if they limited the run. I mean, if they limited it to say 500, it wouldn't surprise me if they could charge 50-100k and sell out in hours if not minutes.

Some actress is gonna get in front of this and be like the Jordan of sex robots.

Also, most people can't justify 20k for a lot of things including a car or truck, season tix to their favorite sport, vacations, clothes, etc... and yet... they do.
