Haha...This clown called Jonas Knox made the analogy.."The Rams are like a man that goes to a restaraunt to see if he's hungry" So Knox trolls the Rams because he says they don't know who they want. I tweet to him, OF COURSE THEY KNOW WHO THEY WANT" (or something close)..Next thing I know he's naming me on air as as a basement dwelling fanboy, with Jim Everrett underoos (not washed since the 1980's)..lol.

I try to explain through the limited medium of Twitter, that Jeff Fisher and Les Snead play the game. They will lie to your face or delay an announcement for every advantage. He (Jonas Knox) says that there is no advantage whatsoever in delaying an announcement, and that they really just stupidly moved up for some sort of SPLASH (only). These radio guys don't know how they operate (Snead/Fisher), and that THEY NEED A FREAKING QB. In the above analogy, the diner is not hungry....doesn't that mean the Rams don't know what player, regardless of position, they want in the draft but they rashly moved up to do it? Flawed logic, imo.
btw Jonas Knox, my user name on the internet is my attempt to remain anonomous on the internet..That's on facebook, twitter, and forums like this.

Yea, this is why I don't bother with twitter or paying any attention to sports media unless I'm reading news (except for a few choice people whom I actually respect). I don't need some asshat who knows less than I do talking down to me because he's convinced himself of his own greatness.(they always justify this by saying, "I'm paid to give my opinions...how about you?" or something like that)

Can't stand the arrogance and condescension from sports journalists. There are a few who are actually respectful and worth the read but the vast majority of them are too conceited and arrogant to be bothered with.

Up here in the middle of PA the only sports radio I get is ESPN. I hate Mike Golic so I don't listen to Mike and Mike but as many of you know I do listen to Cowherd. I always like his different takes on topics. I think he does actually have sources in some cases and I love when he brings on people outside of sports to interviews. Also the stuff he does with the Vegas handicappers is always interesting to me too.

I don't pay for Sirius so it is Cowherd and NFL network.........or the Web.

BTW @LoyalRam that asshat has no idea what he is talking about. I lived in Chicago for about 6 months. It was my breaking away/midlife type of thing. Anyway I didn't know many people out there and went to Thanksgiving with a distant family member and their family. Some punk comes in with a leather jacket on and his hair slicked back and people start to applaud him. So, I ask who it is and it was someones nephew who just got this gig on a local sports radio show because he had been doing for his college station. Eventually I got a chance to sit with him and talk. I was looking forward to being able to talk sports to someone for a change. Supposedly his thing was Basketball. My thing is definitely not basketball. I sat down and started to talk...........he knew less than I did about the NBA. It was pathetic. His excuse was that he liked college hoops. He knew next to nothing about the NFL.

That opened my eyes to how many of these guys operate. They fake it by reading internet reports and commenting like they know what they are talking about.

I am sure the top dogs know their shit but I wont bother listening to anyone else.

@Elmgrovegnome....
So it goes.
A comedian like John Stewart has a team of writers that come up with his stuff....he probably contributes, but, is he some comedic genius....naw.
Most arrogance is based in insecurity, so, a radio guy who's job it is to give his opinion on a topic he may or may not know much about....well, this is why many don't take calls or only take calls from people who agree with them. If they get someone who disagrees and is making a valid point they usually get rid of them as quickly as possible.
They usually have a staff that will do research for them as well.
I like good radio, but, it is hard to find.

One thing that really opened my eyes was the story of Jeremy Green, son of former coach Dennis Green. Jeremy Green never played football -- not peewee, high school, none -- he was a basketball player that loved basketball. But when basketball ended he had nothing better to do with his life so his dad got him a job -- as an NFL scout. Yes, this was the guy judging NFL talent. He ended up in jail on child porn charges. Ok not sure what that last part has to do with it since probably not all NFL scouts are criminal pervs, just backing your point about our eyes should be open that the "experts" aren't always that.

Interesting story.I never heard that before about Greene.

I refute posters that say the pros know better than everyone else. Some board members are very good at telling if a player will be good or not. How do we know how good all of these scouts are, or even some GMs. I liken it to doctors. As a kid your told to trust what the doctors say. As an adult you realize they are just people and make mistakes, or just arent good doctors. I have had a few incompetent doctors over the years.

He announced that he was getting a lot of pressure from Rams fans (probably mostly me, cuz I was Twittering him to death), and they felt the need to explain themselves three times...lol

Someone with your trolling experience should be much more active on Twitter.
It's a gold mine. It's also a way to get a little interaction with some pretty cool people (which is why I added you =P)

Interesting take. However, I will listen and evaluate a doctors opinion. Somebody on a board spouting off about how much they know... no. Not as an expert. There are many bad doctors. There are no experts on a board. Just opinions.

which can be fun

Opinions can be right or wrong, just like the national media and so called "experts". There will be a lot of analysts/experts whos opinion will be wrong, just like every season. Wont go into the doctor debate thing cause they know a shit ton more than me and I wouldnt trust my opinion vs.theirs when it comes to my body and health.

Because these guys go out and physically watch and talk with the players, former coaches, and some cases their families. They do this 24/7. Then you have some guy on the internet that parrots what Mike Mayok says or links you to a 10 minute YouTube highlight video. It's a guessing game for sure, but the guesses are better when made by the people who do this are getting paid by billionaires.

Anyone who thinks the Rams traded up without having a VERY good idea who they want is a complete moron. If you know the first thing about Fisher and Snead you know exactly how they play this game. I can't stand sports radio heads who know less than I do yet will act they are the insider to everything.

Very true. They arent right 100%, but this is there job, and they have them for a reason.

The only flaw in it all is that when it comes to Goff/Wentz, they all seem split. So is one side better at evaluating them or what? I just think its impossible to tell which will be better and some like what one brings to the table more. Crapshoot to the max. Still agree with you though. They see and talk and know more than any of us in the end when it comes to prospects.
