How surprised were you when The Rams drafted Todd Gurley ??
Surprised and over the moon. I think I muttered "I cant believe we drafted Gurley" for weeks after that.
But that was then, and the "new" mentality seems to be trade back, pick up picks, trade back, pick up picks....

IDK, it's tied right now, both teams went to the Super Bowl and lost.

True , but there salary cap seems to be in better shape. This RB they have looks amazing,he even gave up surfing.lol. Hope John Kelly can come out of nowhere like that.
Just a little bitter right now. I actually think The Rams had 9ers beat in December.Talk about a drunken night & lucky not to have gone to jail.
Anyway Go Rams!!! Ogbo is going to be a key draft pick from 2018. Even Micah Kiser ?? Watching both my view is OBO is a stud. Bigger & more athletic than his frame says. Greg Gaines is like a bull. Just has a blast & no range.
Kiser gets out to the flat okay, but is a little slow & smallish.
—Really think this draft is about drafting a LBer & RB. Draft price has no limit. Find 2 stud starters which imo is not going to be to hard. Add a stud FS(SS).

BTW- F the 8ers. It’s all about The Rams. Just think Shanahan is a solid HC & Mcvay needs to hold his own. The new coaching staff could make a huge difference moving forward.
Joe Barry is going to want a LBer.

If the rams have several favorite players in the mix available at 52 id be ok with a trade down and then taking one of those players at 57.

Does anyone else miss having a 1st rounder it feels like forever since we had one ... don’t get me wrong I love the fact we have ramsey .. but not getting hyped for draft day one and the first round makes me sad

The only problem I have with trading away first round picks is that the traded players often are very close to free agency and will soon be on there second contract, which is often pretty expensive. Drafting round 1 talent is a roll of the dice, but having a cheap quality starter for 5 years and some (second/third rounders) for 4 years could really help out the cap.

Snead and McVay seem to love the proven talent. It makes some sense, since many draft picks do not turn out like expected, even first rounders. However, the result is that they go heavy on the back end of the draft and load up on cheap contracts that don't count against the cap. Its an interesting take. What works best? A few megastars with a lot of filler or a more even roster? I guess we have to give it more time, but so far the results from last year seem to lean towards it not being a great strategy.

I do have one other problem. I miss day 1 of the draft and the excitement that comes with it. Day 2 and Day 3 are cool and all but they aren't close to the anticipation and emotional roller coaster of Day 1. Seeing players that you want go ahead of your team and getting angry or discouraged, watching your team trade back when the guy you want is there for the picking, or the elation of your team picking a player that you think has great potential. I miss that part of it. Its like the excitement of watching a big game but only in April.

I get you missing the excitement of the first day of the draft etc I do too ...BUT considering mcvay and Snead haven’t had a first round draft pick since mcvay was hired .. I mean a playoff berth in season one a Super Bowl in season two and a winning (albeit ultimately disappointing ) season which saw is a win away from the playoffs all bodes pretty well we have drafted smart and well in the later rounds and the majority of our draftees have come in and contributed .. Higbee and kupp (our best Wr even when we had cookie) are excellent starters .... Everett Rapp JJ3 are all above average ..jrey has potential was just unlucky he has had to sit behind kupp woods and cook

In Snead and mcvay we trust

Why not grab 2 of them at 52 and 57?

Depends on the situation but if you can drop to around 62, consider the teams picking at the other 8 slots and their needs and then decide if you think one of those guys will be there at 62. Not precise but something i would be looking at when pick 50 rolls up. Could mean an extra late 3rd round pick for the rams
