Fangio defenses rarely blitz

Eh, yes and no. Fangio is very creative in how he rushes four, and when he does blitz, they're very effective and creative looks. Remember that Aldon Smith/Justin Smith stunt they used to use? I haven't seen much creativity from Staley.

McVay has to start letting Goff throw the ball down the field even when we get in the Red Zone. The rest of the league has figured out these behind the line screens we constantly throw down there. If you are paying Goff all this money let him throw the damn ball upfield. Jeesh!!

Playing 3 safeties combined with the worst LB depth chart in the NFL is not a recipe for success on defense IMO. But all zone with no blitzing?? Staley is calling a bitch ass game so far IMO. If we're going to get shredded at least be aggressive and try to get pressure and turnovers. Having double the TOP but losing is unacceptable.

Where Justin Smith would hold for Aldon?
It was very affective.
Hope to see some adjustments at D.

Still early in this game, still early in the season. I wouldn’t be butthurt with an 0-1, but we need to learn from this game regardless.

Horrible tackling, soft coverage and the cowboys getting the ball out quick, led our defense looking like a jv squad. didn’t see a single bright spot on that side of the ball

Brown's experience shows that we have potential for a running game.
Need another hard ass player on the DL to assist Donald, but that's nothing new.
Somewhat miss Fowler.

I don’t think it takes a genius defensive coordinator to see that if you give an opposing team’s wide receivers a 10 yard cushion every play, they’re going to throw it there with success 90% of the time.
I have more issue with not covering seek out of the backfield

Rushing with 4 seems problematic when they are throwing it everywhere. Will say though, ALL of the DBs are in hip pockets in man coverage.

Our run stuffing NT and best pass rushing edge rusher are both out for 4-6 weeks at least. So with Donald getting doubled on every play we wont have a pass rush unless we blitz. Staley needs to realize this sooner rather than later and adjust or it will be a lonnng season.

A fair position in the abstract but given who we had the cowboys down, combined with our time of possession, to lose would reflect very poorly on this team IMO

Zero pash rush, Zero blitz, Zero tackling.

Our offense and Goff have dominating. But MCvay needs to be more aggressive and the WR's need to stop the drive killing drops.
Not trying to be smart ass but Brown and Everett have the only drops I remember
