Missed call by a few inches, but one far less significant than what happened at the end.
I would argue a safety is far more significant than a holding penalty regardless of where it happens in the game. They lay down without that call. It sparked their comeback.

They had their chance. Let's not forget how KC got the ball in that moment. Wilson fumbled the snap on the 50 and never touched it again. That's on him.

If they didn't call the safety, KC is punting from their 7. It means the Jets likely get the ball with good field position. What sparked the comeback wasn't really the safety. It was Zach Wilson finally waking up and providing competent play.

And yes, he fumbled the snap. But if they had called the clear holding on 3rd and 22 or not called the weak defensive holding on the Mahomes INT, the Jets almost certainly get the ball back with a chance to win.

Wilson probably fails, but it doesn't change how shitty it is when the refs tip the balance of the game.

You do realize they were in a 3rd and 22 because the refs called holding on the previous down and twice on that drive. It sounds like people are saying "if the Jets got every break there is then..."

I agree with you. I don't believe Wilson would have lead a game winning drive so the Chiefs win it either way. It was a good game. Both teams played well.

And you realize that they clearly held on that previous play, just like they did on the 3rd and 22 conversion. This is worse than the blatant hold they missed on Freeland (against Byron Young) in the Rams game. And that was a baaaaaad miss.

The Jets didn't need every break. Just don't hit me with some bullshit of not calling that holding and then flagging Sauce Gardner for this a couple plays later when the Jets picked off Mahomes:

That's a ticky tack call after you swallowed the flag on an obvious holding. That sort of inconsistent bullshit pisses me and a lot of other people off. Call it consistently.

.

It seems mahommes is getting the Tom Brady treatment now that the golden boy has retired.

Who can forget the chiefs-bucs superbowl 2nd qtr where every 3rd down stop or turnover the chiefs d created was met with a late yellow flag. Every single one. Meanwhile the bucs held with impunity on both sides of the ball. By the end of the qtr the chiefs d couldn't do anything and bucs had free reign on the game. All for Tommy and his legacy.

Now the league will give mahommes this luxury so that he can dominate the league for the next decade.

You do realize other teams are not getting micromanaged in that way, right? I don't know of another OL that's racking up more penalties than KC. So yeah, they're getting hammered.

"It should have been 3rd and 32 instead of 3rd and 22!!" C'mon, man. The only reason it's being talked about is because Mahomes converted the down.

So now we have Taylor Swift (and the “who is that with her” comments) as the headline for a Chiefs game, with bad officiating as the byline?

Not a good night for the NFL.

How does anyone overlook that holding call and it not be intentional? They don’t. The refs tried to hand the Chiefs an opening season win by not calling the 20 plus times that their right tackle false started. This is Brady all over again.

The call that took the Int away was ridiculous. The receiver and corner were hand fighting a little but there was nothing that would make anyone think the receiver was being impeded.

The refs definitely steered that outcome. Kelce dating Taylor Swift was a genius move. Mahomes already has favoritism. Now he has even more. The networks are drooling over being able to draw in all of the millions of Taylor Swift fans to boost their ratings. This will be the top NFL headline all year long. Advertisers will be fighting over spots for every Chiefs game I’d Swift attends most of them.

Maybe someone should introduce Puka to Ariana Grande.

Micromanaged? Stop committing blatant penalties! Yes, it matters that he converted it with the assistance of an obvious hold and then got bailed out of an INT a couple plays later by a weak call.

I think the point is that without the holding, Mahomes likely never converts on that play. A hold that blatant needs to be called. The Chiefs Oline problems shouldn’t be the leagues or refs problem to take care of. Andy Reid has always gotten good play out of his Olines. Maybe he needs to find a new Oline coach. Either way it’s his problem. The refs shouldn’t beholding back calls because the Chiefs already have too many holding penalties this season. There isn’t a cap on that that I know of.

Ariana Grande is 8 years older than Puka! (that actually makes me feel old!)

As long as we’re “shipping” (I’m using that term correctly, right?) how about Puka and Jenna Ortega?

Doubt Andy Heck is the problem.
Then they need to find some new linemen. Either way it’s not the leagues problem, it’s not the refs problem.. If they are holding, especially blatant holds like that one being talked about, then it should be called, regardless of the number of line penalties they rack up every week.

These refs are part time right? Maybe they were looking to make a few extra bucks and an investigation into ties with gambling interests needs to be made. If I recall it happened to the NBA a few years back. But Goodell has decided Gambling is good so it probably won't happen.

@AvengerRam just threw-up in his mouth.
