1. We are reliant on too many JAGs in the pass game.

2. Our OL sucks ballsack.

3. Our secondary is infuriatingly inconsistent behind an elite pass rush.
Such a big investment in the O Line and it's been a weak link this season.

I'm happy with Dotson. He was reportedly injured early this season and toughed it out. He's been there for us all season. So even if Jackson is a FA bust for us we should still be able to right the ship with this unit at some point. Question is how long it's gonna take, though, because we're almost out of rope.

Completely disagree. Saw Speight in tackles all night. Witherspoon had the blown coverage on that wide open 3rd and long for the first td drive. Guessing that's what led to his reduced snaps.
Speights is an awesome run defender but seems a bit lost in pass coverage. He would be great seeing about 60% of the snaps as the second ILB to an elite ILB in both phases. And I really hate to say it but I think Ernest Jones would've been that guy had things not broken down behind the scenes.

I saw Hoecht in coverage way more than I was comfortable with.

Like never would be good.

They were playing zone, not man on that play.
Speights was a mixed bag. Made some plays and tackles and was totally lost in coverage at times. Thats to be expected with Speights however.

Agree about Speights.
That said, he is young and certainly athletic enough to improve his coverage skills and recognition.

yeah it's clear to me why he hasn't played - good run stopper but zero feel for pass coverage.
I think he will improve given more reps in the passing game.
Hes young so its to be expected really.
He certainly offers more upside in that regard than Reeder or Rozeboom.

.

It was weird seeing jonnu Smith running across the field with the ball in his hands and Speights just standing there watching him.
