whoa the Marquis snaps....
and Gaines w/ 3 snaps, keep on truckin'! anyone see any of his 3 snaps? how'd our future NT rook look?

That LB and the NT are part time positions. One or both get pulled for the passing sub package. That's why I would like to see them play Gaines at 3T behind AD. Smart only played 12 snaps and they weren't good. He got zero penetration.

I loved the Rapp pick on draft day. I knew they now had their safeties going into the future with Johnson and Rapp. They only need to fix their CB situation. Talib is clearly showing his age and I don't expect him back next year and IMO the jury is still out on Peters.

Really? Then I wonder why he was not in during garbage time rather then Gurley?
I’d have thought maybe Brown but in the end TG didn’t have a lot of touches. The only reason Henderson got any carries week 1 was the dehydration going on.

Glad they trusted Rapp to play centerfield over Marquis. Hope this trend continues.
The only reason Christian played last week was to replace Weddle. Weddle played every snap this week so no need for Christian.

Nothing to really get excited about, but he only played 3 snaps. The first play was a scramble by Bridgwater where he was stonewalled by the center and the other two were 4 yard runs. It's only 3 plays and it's his first 3 plays so it's hard to really judge, but the way the entire DLine played yesterday it's understandable where he is on the depth chart.

I found the defensive snaps interesting....HD use of OLB'ers seems to be Wade's preference.

29 times Wade called his base defense 3-4-5 to the field. 43 times Wade called his 2 Dl'ers, 3 LB'ers, 3 safeties & 3 corners plus 2 times when his 4th down alignment was 4 Dl'ers, 2 OLB'ers, 2 ILB'ers, 2 corners & a safety.

Wade ran his 2-3-3-3 many times on first downs too. Wade is enjoying having Matthews/Fowler & Ebukam on ready @ all times. Same can be said about Wade's safety trio of JJ III/ Weddle & Rapp. It was nice to see that rookies NT Gaines & ER Patrick saw a little action too.

Safety Rapp is still learning the proper angles on his pursuits, but he will figure it out as the season wears on. Ebukam is far better going forward than in reverse. Hager was good help on shutting down #41 Kamara. I just knew that Cory Littleton would have an All Pro season in his new ILB'er post. CL is on his way.

It looks like Wade finally has the players and depth to run his defense. The prior two years the OLB position was severely lacking talent and healthy players.

Just noticed that Hill was in on 5 plays for Talib, didn't even notice him on sunday. That's a good sign.

Wade is sure to begin to work in his 4th edge rusher Natrez Patrick as this season goes on. Think on this for a moment this rookie UDFA who was a ILB'er @ UG has edged out the more famous college pass rusher Og Okoronkwoo_O. Patrick must have put in the effort in St's for Bones to have past'd Okoronkwo.

Another ER that I was highly impressed with during the four pre-season games was ER Landis Durham. I would not be surprised to see him brought up from the PS unit before the end of the season. I see LD similar to what Cory Littleton was in his first season in the NFL.
