Should teams start going for two if they get the ball first in OT?

Statistically that's still the case. If you don't think your team can maximize 2 stops (defend the goal line and then the 2 point) then why put them in a situation to lose needing just one of those? It's a shame we stunk though.
It's not that you don't think you can stop the TD. It's that the only way you can "lose" is if they do score a TD and convert for 2. So you look forward that they already scored the TD and in that situation, with all the momentum, crowd going nuts, a tired D after that drive, is it easier to stop their 2, or would it be easier to convert your own where you just scored on them and you have momentum?

It's definitely a case where you have to imagine that scenario and the state your D would be in.

I still don't think I do it. Because the defense held up most of the night. I would've trusted them to get me one stop. Hindsight they failed. But at the time the Seahawks really only scored on busted plays. Not a lot of just driving down the field like that final score.
Yes, I suppose I wouldn't have the guts to go for 2 preemptively either in general, even if a case could be made for it. I would be optimistic the D could prevent a TD.

I suppose, but does that consider what happens if you fail to convert your two point attempt? Feels similar to the chiefs vs the niners in the Superbowl. Now, you have a team that knows they only need to score a TD to win and they have 4 downs to do it. And momentum on their side after the stop. It's an interesting convo. I think I'd rather die on the defense though.
