No... I'm not OnD in disguise...

Hav graded out poorly and looked a step slow.. McClendon seemed to be very, very solid.

Am I overreacting? Or is anyone else seeing similar. I love big Rob.. but there was one snap where he got beat so cleanly by an outside rush.. that I'm a little alarmed.

Hav does Hav things well - he gets push in the run game and he seldom misses an assignment or makes a mental error. He has always been susceptible to speed around the outside. McC proved to be a very capable backup for him - which is awesome - and he may have played his way into a future starting role - but I really doubt the Rams are going to start screwing with the composition of the O Line absent injury.

If Big Hav is healthy he should start. Sure, he doesn't have a lot of agility and can be beat with speed, but he's smart and like 12 said, he doesn't make mental errors. His experience comes in handy in the big games.

Seattle has some very fast / explosive players on defense; and Havenstein appeared to struggled yesterday against the Seahawks' speed. However, I thought he was very effective in the prior two games.

Personally, I hope (and expect) they maintain the status quo but I also think this is his final Rams season.

Which is why it was so weird to see him fall asleep for that one play against Lawrence.

I'd definitely keep starting him. His knowledge, leadership, and big-game experience are still worth more than McClendon's possible physical advantage at this point.

You got extra TEs on the field, chip him if he goes outside and that will give Hav time to recover. If he goes inside Hav is there cause he knows he has help on the outside. It is a no brainer and really that TE could still handle another assignment on the play. Just seems like on key plays, like 3rd and long with certain Edge players it is an easy fix.

Think the Rams had this figured as his last season. His contract should be out after this year iirc. Too lazy to look it up though. :laugh1:
