Ill agree he is not a great run defender, but I won't go as far as you would. Showed the willingness to play safety which is a more physical position. A lot of good corners in this draft. He is one i definitely wouldn't mind drafting.

Okay. I'll post video evidence tonight, then.
http://gph.is/2k8sut1

He's #7 at the top of the screen. He has a chance to take on Henry or the OL and try to make a stop, but he instead purposefully overruns the play to keep from being bulldozed. Trust me, this is the tip of the iceberg.

http://gph.is/2jl0myZ

You have a pulling OL coming for Sutton again. What does Sutton do? He gets out of the way by purposefully taking himself out of the play to avoid contact.

http://gph.is/2k8iUXl

Watch him come up from his corner spot and make a completely half-assed tackle attempt. He flops to the ground and halfheartedly throws one arm at Henry who is running by. Sutton wanting nothing to do with tackling Henry was actually a consistent theme that popped up throughout this game.

http://gph.is/2k8uy4f

This time he has to come up and hit Henry. You can see that he wants very little to do with that. He hesitates, then makes a halfhearted tackle attempt, and allows Henry to pickup 7 yards on what should have been a gain of 0-2 yards because of his feeble tackle attempt.

http://gph.is/2k8rN3d

Here's the cherry on top of a fucking pitiful performance. Look at the scoreboard and the time left in the game. Watch Sutton make no effort to stop Henry. In fact, he purposefully runs himself out of the play and then watches as Henry runs through the lane he vacated to score the game-winning TD. He did that with the game on the line.

You guys want that sort of bullshit on our defense? I sure as hell don't. It's pathetic and embarrassing to see such shit effort.

But I recognize that some might say, "Maybe he was hurt against Alabama? Maybe he didn't play so pathetically soft in other games?"

Here's a video of him doing the exact same shit against Virginia Tech:
http://gph.is/2k8okl4

He's #23 at the bottom of the screen. Watch as he purposefully runs himself out of the play to avoid contact.

I disagree though he is a definitely a strong cover corner. He had 13 pass break ups and 3 picks in 2014 then teams didn't throw at him 15. He was healthy all his career and had the unfortunate injury this year.

I disagree. Here's Calvin Ridley lighting him up in 2015:
http://gph.is/2k88VB4
http://gph.is/2k8ubqC
http://gph.is/2k8nDYL

Cam Sutton is projected to go in the first two rounds of this draft. This CB class is ridiculously stacked. In order for me to even consider him in the first two rounds of THIS class, he'd have to be a shutdown CB because of how soft and pathetic he is as a run defender.

He's not a shutdown CB. He's a good cover CB. But there are a lot of guys on par or better than him as cover CBs in this class who don't run away from contact or piss their pants when they see Derrick Henry coming at them.

I think Cupp & Sutton look good. So does that wr named Randolph. Think he's outta Texas A&M.
http://walterfootball.com/seniorbowl2017practice6.php
Eastern Colorado wide receiver Cooper Kupp finished off his strong week of practice. He did well in the one-on-one and team scrimmage. However, there was one pass that was behind him that he tipped in the air for an interception by Nebraska safety Nate Gerry. It wasn't Kupp's fault, but hitting it down would have been the safer play to avoid the turnover. Kupp got away with a push off on Rasul Douglas to make a nice gain on a dig route in the team scrimmage. After his strong Senior Bowl, Kupp should go on the second day of the draft.
http://walterfootball.com/seniorbowl2017practice2.php
Tennessee cornerback Cam Sutton missed the majority of his senior year with an injury, so there were many eyes on him to see how he would perform in Mobile. Sutton had a strong first day and played well overall. He is a feisty corner who competes well.

Team sources said that Texas A&M wide receiver Josh Reynolds impressed in the meeting room. He had some dropped passes on Wednesday, but he made a great leaping touchdown grab over two defenders in the back of the end zone during the team scrimmage. As he showed during the 2016 season, Reynolds is a real red zone weapon.
Nice wr outta Western Kentucky too....They sent some players to Mobile. WR from Grambling looked pretty good. Best wr at senior bowl is Cupp...Best DB is that kid White outta LSU. Look out for that safety from U Conn.

Nice. I think the argument can definitely be made that we need more help at CB than at WR.

GREAT post. Love the effort you put in to back up your argument. I know nothing of him and want nothing to do with him based off your post. Well done, sir.

I always recommend that people watch the tape and come to their own conclusions. So if you can, I recommend you watch him. You might end up disagreeing with me. But Sutton's pathetic effort and complete lack of physicality makes him a Day 3 pick for me. And that's only because he has good cover skills.

There are too many talented CBs in this class to draft a guy who is allergic to contact in the first 3 rounds.

I found myself getting more and more irritated every time I clicked on the next video lol. I want nothing to do with this guy, unless he falls past the fourth round. In my opinion, it speaks to his competitiveness and his drive. Sanders was legit the only guy who could get away with it and that's bc he could cover better than anybody. I'll take a pass on Sutton. Thanks bro

That's just pathetic. When I first saw your side of the argument I was thinking, well Marcus Roberson had the same knock. Then after seeing the tape, this kid makes Marcus Roberson look like Aaron Donald in terms of physicality.

Another mock draft from Easterling has the Rams drafting CB Jourdan Lewis from Michigan.

As Turf Show Times noted, an NFL.com Mock Draft had Los Angeles selecting Clemson defensive back Cordrea Tankersley in the second round.

So it could be worth wondering whether or not the Rams are considering drafting a CB in the second round of the upcoming NFL Draft.

We need to take this guy he's a fucking beast! He is an inch or two shorter than I'd like but he sure as hell plays bigger and his ball skills are off the charts with nice hips and ball awareness.

A&M guy is Josh Reynolds. Travis Rudolph is Florida ST.
You are correct...
Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M
Height: 6-4. Weight: 190.
Projected 40 Time: 4.55.
Projected Round (2017): 4-6.
12/31/16: Reynolds had 61 receptions for 1,039 yards and 12 scores in 2016. He was a reliable receiver for the Aggies. Reynolds will play at the Senior Bowl.

7/30/16: In 2015, Reynolds caught 51 passes for 907 yards and five touchdowns. He had a quality 2014 season with 52 receptions for 842 yards and 13 touchdowns. Reynolds was a steady contributor on a weekly basis who produced decent yardage totals despite only having one 100-yard game on the season (Missouri 5-125).
I see a nice late round piece....Now on to Jrry32 and his crew.
But Sutton's pathetic effort and complete lack of physicality makes him a Day 3 pick for me. And that's only because he has good cover skills.
Boy, you got some power....LOLOLOL
Now, this guy's been injury prone...in college...so, I get the not tackling...I hate secondary guys that don't want to hit, especially safeties. Corners too...but mainly in the lower levels (HS, College, & Pop Warner) because of the need for the force on sweeps. But I really hate guys in the secondary that CAN'T cover. I see this kid as needing some strength, and something to play for($$$$) to keep him motivated.
I know nothing of him and want nothing to do with him based off your post.

That's just pathetic

Alright slide Sutton into the undraftable list for being a pus$y!!!
I want you guys to watch todays game...closely....Look at the natural swivel of the hips, the way he turns and locates the flight of the ball, the quickness & athleticism..Hell, watch how he tackles. If he's not worth a 4th round pick, I'm losing it. I'd guess he goes 3rd round...probably 2nd if he runs what I'd expect to be a low 4.5, high 4.4 forty. Get him in the weight room and SEE if he's still not interested in contact. I'm pretty sure his shoulder injury had him avoiding impacts.

Thanks Jrry for the clips. It's a tough call...Would I want him as a replacement for Tru? Not yet...But I'd move him in as a STARTER in the slot, day one. Dude has natural cover skills that are hard to teach.

I've watched plenty of Sutton and here is my analysis FWIW, he reminds be from a run support standpoint of Janoris Jenkins when he came out of South Alabama afraid of putting his nose in there and making a tackle, however, Jenkins could flat out cover and Sutton IMHO acts like a primadona type of CB without the shut down ability in coverage.

Sutton is just like his school every year over-hyped and overrated, but again JMHO. Really does shy away from tackling and IMO too soft in coverage again just my observation.

Eh, Janoris's tackling technique was poor, but he was willing to hit and take guys on. He was a physical kid in college. I still remember him mixing it up with Alshon and A.J. Green when he was at UF.

Now, this guy's been injury prone...in college...so, I get the not tackling...

If you can't tackle in a 14-13 game against Alabama with 2 minutes left in the 4th in the redzone, I'm just not sure when you can ever tackle.

Just too many talented cover CBs in this class. I'd rather take my chances with somebody else. Don't want a guy who turns it on and off. You never know when he'll do that at the next level.

Sutton is no Deion Sanders so I can't excuse his tackling entirely. Brought back images of Gerod Holliman from a couple years ago. But he is a very talented cover corner and I'd be willing to take him at the right value. 4th or 5th round, I'm good with that. Doubt he makes it there though.

Zay Jones and Cooper Kupp have both looked excellent today. I thought Dan Feeney was impressive when I watched him too.

That kid Lorenzo Jerome out of St. Francis looks really good too. If we don't plan on moving Joyner to FS I like him as a guy who can come in and create turnovers there for us eventually. Some really interesting names here.
