You guys are killing me here.

Just looking at Myers career stats on Pro Football Reference, which lists his season-long FGs for each of his eleven-year-career. In 4 different seasons (2015, '20, '24, '25), he has made a field goal of 57 yards or more.
In 5 other seasons his longest field goals were 56 yards (three times), 55 and 54 yards (once each).

He is a quality long-range-PK. In that very game, he made a 57-yard-FG that would have surpassed 61 yards.

The game-winning attempt was Not a Hail Mary in my opinion.

Yeah but in the article you linked in your post it said this -

In 11 seasons, Myers has never made a game-winning or game-tying field goal attempt beyond 53 yards in his entire career. He’s 0-for-4 in those situations and 1-of-6 from 53+:

If I had known that before he kicked the ball i would have been a lot less nervous. Still, what a rush when he predictably (as we know now, not back then) missed.

.

Is anyone concerned about the comments Puka made about refs in the Aiden Ross livestream?

For context he basically said the refs weren't that good and just wanted to get on TV. I am sure there were worse comments made before about refs but the league is funny about this stuff. But at the very least it is not helpful.

I love Puka the football player but he does have some immaturity. Recording in the locker room did not go over very well and now this.

Maybe it is ultimately nothing but McVay had to deny him permission to take these streamers into the facility.

Big game this week and McVay is already distracted. He doesn't need this. Yes, Puka will show up to play...as always.

But it is not helpful. And the refs may not be so friendly.

Maybe I'm overreacting. But big game.

What’s his percentage on kicks over 60 yards?

*edit: found it myself

You keep saying "the FGA was never a hail mary, he's 75% accurate from 50+ the last 2 years. He kicked a 57 yarder earlier in the game". All well and good but this was beyond 60. Not in the high 50's. Huge difference. He's made 1 of 5 attempts from beyond 60 yards, that's 20%. And like I said, it was SHORT and wide right. I didn't know those numbers during the game and I thought it was a hail mary. Seeing the kick AND those numbers and clearly, I was right. Remember the Titans!!!!

… clearly, I was right. Remember the Titans!!!!
I disagree; and for you to feel the need to say that is absolutely adorable … and more than a little telling.

Hell of a good movie.

I thought it was a hail mary at the time and his record from 60+ confirms it. Is that better?

Unless I subscribe to your theory.....if he can make a 57 yard FG, he can make a 58. If he can make a 58, he can make a 59. If he can make a59, he can make a 60. Hell by that theory a 75 yarder isn't a hail mary.

The guy has made 1 of 5 from 60 and beyond. And that 1 was at the end of a first half. No pressure. 11 years in the league, 5 attempts that long. Clearly his coaches believe it's a hail mary.

But continue with that opinion, it wasn't the 4 picks, it was the missed kick at the end. We're all entitled to an opinion. Now that's adorable.

Sounds like Mumpfield is the next man up. We'll rally around him and play good football.
He is...along with Fergie in my thinking. The thing is, Stafford will have to get in sync with them more in their route running. Most times they get snaps they are 3rd reads or more behind Puka, Adams and Parkinson. I do know Mumpfield and Fergie have the skills, it's just knowing where Stafford is gonna put the ball them that needs work.

I'm pretty certain as they work up to Thursday, they're getting it right. It's not that Stafford won't throw to them...it's more that the starters run the routes better and Stafford knows where to put the ball.

As we get worked up for this game, I feel like getting the RBs out of the backfield, is another way to attack the Seahags...also, let's not forget Whittington either!

It's all good man. Just a couple comments, and then I will move on.

That's really not good logic or reasoning.
4 more yards on a 57-yard-attempt (to get to 61) is an increase of just 7%.
18 more yards on a 57-yard-attempt (to get to 75) is an increase of 32%

But continue with that opinion, it wasn't the 4 picks, it was the missed kick at the end.
Just to be fair to my original post (#87 on this tread / page 5).
I was responding to a poster who suggest the Rams 'just need to run the ball and stop the run' to win.
In doing so, I threw-out some stats to illustrate how good Seattle is, and how close the two teams are.

I did write that ... "The Rams won a few weeks ago because Myers missed a 61-yard-FGA."
and pointed-out that Myers was a quality veteran Place-kicker, with a strong leg.

I then noted some stats that greatly favored the Seahawks; and finished the post with this quote:
"The Rams Plus-3 Turnover-Differential was the key."

So, to be fair, I clearly stated the opposite of what you wrote above.

We're all entitled to an opinion.
Could not agree more ... and, I enjoy your posts

Now that's adorable.
Now this comment impresses the hell out-of-me.
This is an anonymous fan forum ... Yet ... you have the perception to know that I am indeed ... ADORABLE!

True, Stafford isn’t his best in cold rainy weather. How is Darnold? Will our DL get after him? We can apply plenty of pressure. I think we may have the advantage here. It’s super important in this game to limit turnovers. I hope we run the he11 out of ball. Play control ball. Don’t fumble. That will be the deciding factor. “Ground chuck” approach. That and short throws to our TEs. Wear them down and harass Darnold.
Yeah I wish that McVay would really stick to the running game if the weather gets nasty. Ball and TOP control, along with scoring TD's may put stress on Darnold's game again.
And we've all seen him become a turnover machine when he's under pressure.

Between Mumpfield, X Smith, Tu Tu and Ferg, it will be interesting to see who has the big game Thursday.
Or maybe it will be spread around more like in the past. I'm pretty sure that Puka and Parkinson will have their numbers called early and often, if the passing game isn't impacted by the weather conditions.

If the wind and rain are bad, then we will probably see a game similar to last years 2nd whiner game. I am hoping the Rams improvement in running and the redzone will get the win.

I hope they spread it out as this makes them harder to stop and makes the offense less predictable.
As far as Mumpfield.....he has two legs and two arms and is a carbon based life form....so, yeah, he has some things in common with Adams.

When these teams played earlier this season, the TEs missed a lot of play killing blocks. Plus I think Hav was fighting an ankle injury and got beat a number of times on the edge. Since then, I have noticed the TE blocking has gotten way better and our new young tackle is a big improvement. I also think the Seahawks are pretty much the same except the QB is slumping a bit. So this will be a Rams win, barring a turnover collapse.
