Just stop. Rams just had the number one scoring offense in the NFL. This is not some middle of the pack offense because of his play calling
I'm always dumbfounded when I see people say that. This Rams team was the fifteenth highest scoring offense in NFL history. You want to take play calling away from the guy who orchestrated that?!?

Seen that same defensive movie over and over. Need a stop, play 10 yards off a receiver, let the offense do whatever they want with absolutely zero creativity on the defensive side. I hate to say it but that last 4th down stop by the Seahawks was an absolute beauty of a playcall by Macdonald. He knew that McVay would be calling a pass play and had his defense show all out pressure only to drop 8 into coverage, blanketing our receivers. That's how you call a defense, not this soft zone bullshit where receivers are running wide open in the end zone for easy catches. We will never get a real defensive coordinator because McVay loves the soft zone bullshit. It's so infuriating to have a glaring issue cost you a shot at the Super Bowl, knowing they did fuck all to fix that obvious issue.

No worries! Just good convo here. And I think we're basically on the same page. The defense wasn't horrific. It just didn't have any real moments where they made a difference. The offense was facing the best defense in the league, so they were bound to stall here and there. It would've been nice if the defense could've done more than just hold water.
You said it perfectly!

Has McVay ever been that intense as he was on the sidelines this season? I feel like he should dial it back a bit, especially screaming into his play sheet. I love the intensity but that can't be good for longevity. Maybe he's always been like this but to me it seemed more so this year.

He was definitely more fired up this game and emotional. You can tell he wanted this one really bad and you can't really blame him - Stafford was having a historic season, we were matching up really well against Seattle and we just needed a play or two to go our way. The post game presser was legit the first one I've heard where he sounded like he wanted to cry. This one will hurt for a long time, I hope he gets his mind right and commits to fixing our shitty defense and special teams.

...

As for McVay, he's entering Harbaugh/Tomlin territory in my book ...

...
Harbaugh ... 4 playoff wins and 1 Conference Championship Game (lost) ... in the past 13 seasons
Tomlin ... 0 playoff wins ... in the past 9 seasons

McVay ... 10 playoff wins, 3 Conference Championship Games, 2 Super Bowls ... in the past 9 seasons

Tell the truth now ... 'Your Book' is mostly just pop-up pictures ... isn't it?

I have mostly coped with the season being over.

Problem now is that, once the Rams season ends, next on the to do list is making sure none of our division rivals win the Super Bowl.

Why did it have to be Seattle

Pull up his presser after we lost at Detroit and Philly last 2 season....same thing....

I won't watch one snap of the Super Bowl.

Ill work on my golf swing or rewatch game 7.

My next Football ill watch is Clemson at LSU....

If he would have sat on the ball, I feel like the complaint would have been that he was too conservative
Exactly right. He knew the defense had a trend of giving up pre-halftime touchdowns and decided to throw it to move the chains. Offense just didn't get it done.

Also Seattle had all their timeouts didn't they? So the trade off is do you embrace a likely 3 'n out to make them use 2 timeouts, or do you get aggressive and attempt to get a score yourself. Unfortunately when you fail no matter what you choose someone's gonna complain and have reason to do so.

I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but it kinda felt like he needed to see a team he built on his own win the whole thing. And maybe he'll feel better and riding off into the sunset sooner (not immediately, maybe) after he does it.

Or maybe he was one victory away from the Superbowl and it sucks to lose.

Recency bias. It was the same the last 2 years as well....
last year's team had very little expectations to go anywhere. The year before it was a miracle we even made the playoffs.

No one was saying the Rams were the best overall team last year. This year we heard it for most of the year.

This year was nowhere near the same as the last two years.

I don't know PA ...

One Play? Really?!?

The Tariq Woolen un-sportsman-like Brain-Fart pretty much 'gave' the Rams 7 points.

The Rams were 1-for-8 on 3rd-down-conversions ... Seattle was 7-for-13.

The Rams' Defense gave-up a a six-play, 74-yard, TD-drive in 34 seconds before the half; and
they couldn't get off-the-field late in the 4th quarter to give Stafford one more chance; and
the Rams' Offense, with a 2nd-and-4 from the Seattle 6 could not gain a yard on three plays.

It was a tough, close and FUCKING BRUTAL LOSS ... but I don't put it on one play.

By-the-way, the Rams wins in Carolina and Chicago were every bit as tough and close games.
Yeah I’m calling the muffed punt and the Woolen unsportsmanlike penalty a push. May not have had one without the other. And I’m calling bs on any major officiating bias. This was on the Rams lack of consistent pass rush and blown pass coverage.

Huh, we were one win away From Hosting the NFC champ game. Hosting it!!!

You dont think the loss at Detroit was emotional??? He knew Donald was retiring,.Stafford back in Detroit....

Again recency bias man....they all stung and he was as emotional in all of.em....

I wouldn't change one thing about McVay. Fuck with the mix and you might not like the result. That competitive drive is what makes him special I think.
