Rams fan since '76/'77.
I remember crying when they lost to the Steelers in the Super Bowl, but being calmed by my dad saying that they would get another chance soon - they were too good a team. He is a Cowboys fan, so I was sure he must be right. It wasn't soon though.
And, even though they won in the 99/'00 season, that squad still ended up feeling like a failure because that team should have filled one of their hands with rings. This one is more special than that, especially because it didn't come out of nowhere. We were able to watch it build towards a title. You could see the growth. It felt, as Thanos would say, inevitable.
It was anxiety-producing along the way, and I never KNEW we were going to win, but it really felt like that was the direction we were going. Hell, if Donald and Kupp were healthy last year, I really think they could have won then as well.
So yeah, 27 years. The whole ride has been over 40 years for me and I'm just thrilled to have two Super Bowls. You know what though? I'd love to even up our Super Bowl record to 3-3 next year.
