I would rather us have the extra motivation to win this week against Detroit to wrap up the division than celebrate being the NFC West Champs over the bye.

The division isn’t the factor - one more W and it’s in the bag. Playoff seating matters now - and who gets in to those wildcard games. We want wounded teams limping in - not surging teams barreling in. And more than anything, we want that first round bye and then home field throughout.

Don't know how many of you saw this game, but the Panthers owned the Seahawks in this game and had to invent multiple ways to lose it. It really should have been a 17-21 point victory for them.

Not afraid of the Seahawks in the least. Would rather play them a 3rd time than play the Panthers in the playoffs. They wouldn't implode like this in LA come playoff time.

Haha I'm not in the least worried about the Squaks come the division round of the playoffs. However there is a bunch of football between now and then so I'm not going to fret over it. Honestly the only matchup I'm worried about is against the Aints and where it will be played at. The rest of this shit is just semantics.

I pray we face them shitbirds so I can go on their forums and read the rising of a huge wave that is their hopes and dreams and enjoy every bit of reading when they come crashing down against the rocks. My favorite part is that they knew we were they ones that did it for a 3RD TIME BABY!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it’s true that the division championship is all but over.

But the Seahawks are a legit wildcard candidate. And would be a very dangerous one, at that.

They’re a team that nobody wants to play right now, that’s for sure.

I don't understand why people fear that team. Of all the teams in the running right now, I'd prefer to play Seattle.(not counting Washington because I think with Smith out, they won't be in the running much longer) When push comes to shove, Seattle has given us their best, and we still beat them both times. I look at a team like Minnesota that hasn't really fired on all cylinders this year, and I see them as more of a threat.

First of all - I DON’T like the Seahawks and was definitely NOT rooting for them today (Or, Any other Day!) but since they did win I am trying to get some kind of consolation out of it! And, The ONLY consolation that I can come up with is that this loss makes the Panthers games with the Saints that more crucial so maybe that will give them a little more of an edge (Not that they really need it!) when they play the Saints (Twice!) later this season!

Well, NO real Good News with this Seahawks win but I am trying to make myself feel a little better!
I agree, I think Carolina must beat the Saints to ensure they make the playoffs over the Vikings/Packers. I really don't see the Saints at 15-1. I amnot sure the Rams can go 15-1 with the Bears in the way in Chicago at 20-25 degrees max....not against that Defense....and The Bears can put up 31+ on the Rams it appears. Hardest game of the year----if Trubisky plays well.

Quick question?

How can Seattle get the three seed?

Pretty sure the division winners are 1-4 and the WC teams are 5-6.

Did that change?

Unless the deal was Seattle at 6 beating the 3 seed and then going to New Orleans...

I would say that even if you win a game against the Seahawks you come out banged up more than most games.

I hate to admit it but Pete has put together an impressive season for the talent level. They may have no pro bowlers or 1-2 at the most.

With their schedule they are positioned to get a Wildcard and may get out of the first round vs the Bears or Cowboys.
Which could be a reason not to have the #1 seed. Let them wear out the saints.

I’m not sure where they got that idea from but you are correct. The best Seattle can do is 5th seed.

Despite them playing us pretty close, I would much rather play Seattle in the playoffs than Carolina.

Carolina is tough at home. Not so much on the road. I had them winning yesterday but was wrong. Now they have to fight for their playoff lives. Definitely will be a tougher game w/ New Orleans. Of course NO has a tough road to hoe, They have Carolina twice, Pitt, @ the Chowboys, @ the Uh OhBuneers. Seattle could have one of the tougher roads Minny, KC, Whiners twice and the Tards. After winning yesterday, I can see 9 wins. Those last 3 spots will be ugly records. And probably Dallas as well.

Not to mention the help Seattle got from "the 12th man" in stripes last time we played them. If the officials don't keep finding ways to extend Seattle drives, we win that game by two TD's at least. Seattle won't get that kind of help in January.
