He's got a direct line to God. That's worth more than $25MM per season.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on...-to-him-and-explained-super-bowl-interception

Almost immediately after the Seahawks miraculously came back against the Packers in the NFC Championship Game to advance to this past season's Super Bowl, Russell Wilsoncredited God for "setting it up" and for making the moment "so rewarding, so special."

Now, Wilson is also crediting God for his heartbreaking interception on the one-yard line that sealed the Super Bowl win for the Patriots and ended the Seahawks' bid for back-to-back championships. While speaking at The Rock Church in San Diego, Wilson claimed that God spoke to him just moments after he tossed the interception and explained why the interception took place.

"The play happens, and they pick the ball off. And I take three steps," Wilson said (via NESN.com). "And on the third step God says to me, 'I'm using you ... I want to see how you respond. But most importantly, I want them to see how you respond.'"

Of course, Malcolm Butler -- the interceptor -- would probably have a different explanation for the interception. While Wilson credited God for "using" him, Butler credited film study and practice, saying that he knew the play was coming before the ball was even snapped.

Wilson's interview at The Rock Church was the same interview in which he claimed that God spoke to him about his relationship with Ciara, which led to the couple's practice of abstinence.

Oh so it wasn't his fault, well now that makes perfect sense...

I actually quite like Wilson, but saying this stuff is just ridiculous.

I like Wilson. He seems like an admirable guy. But when I read this story it bordered on "weird".

So either he's lying, hearing voices in his head aka schizophrenia, or the first prophet since Jesus H. Christ. Hmm.....

Wow, that was a really, really, really BAD character indicator.

He just said God talked to him and told him that he was using me to measure others........

IMO that is a HUGE ugly ego thing.

Hahaha..........I wish him and SEA the worst the season has to offer. 3-13 PLEASE happen. Maybe I should ask "god" if he would do that to test Wilson's faith hahahahaha.

I read another longer article earlier today that talked about another time Umpa claimed that God spoke to him. He said that God told him to be a leader or some shit to his hot ass girlfriend the first time he met her... now he and this girl are "together",,, but he is practicing abstinence.

I'm serious.

Thats pretty....weird. Also ill advised to go round saying stuff like that. People either think hes nutz, lying or an egotistical douchebag.

I'm pretty sure us atheists aren't allowed to comment about this so I won't.

Although, as Russel would probably say himself were he here, it's hard to abstain.

Right, I'm no phsychologist, but I think that means two things, first that the interception is still eating at him, and second that his ego is so out of touch that he needs to use God to protect it.

Very interesting, and yes ... Seattle should pay him 25 million a year guaranteed.

I don't. Not anymore. I could tolerate him and didn't have a hate for him like the shitchicken team. I think b/w this and wanting to be the highest paid QB he's showing sign of having a huge ego. Whether it's true or not, IDK. Somewhere out there tho, this info is being released. So there has to be substance (get it???) to it. And to me, it = EGO.
