he was with minnesota the last time...

and as far as pressure... no QB, not even staff does well under constant pressure...

we just gotta put on more pressure than they do and protect better...

same story, every game...

different opponent, same ol' story, same ol' song and dance my friend...

go rams

Except this is The Hottest team in The NFL & in The Rams division.

How good is Cooper Kupp ? IMO The Rams TE’s are better which has been giving them a EDGE they haven’t had. It’s been giving Stafford more time to pass & has been creating some nice holes.

I’m afraid of the Hags D” front.There ascending.There O”Line
has been solid, they have an injury at center. Had Sam Darnold as a Fantasy QB & dropped him this week.He only had 6 points. He isn’t playing as well as Stafford.

Seattle has (I think) the highest run percentage in the league at 53% or so.
The run a lot though average under 4 ypc. But, it allows play action to do what it does....slows the pass run and creates pass lanes.
They don't blitz much either but they use a lot of stunts. In some ways I think they have a pretty solid advantage with their DL vs our OL.
Rams will have to have a decent run game I think.....Seattle gives up 3.6 ypc.
The biggest advantage Seattle has is the kicking game.

Every game is different. That win over the Vikings is history and doesn't matter as I see it. I see the Rams taking this game:

Murphy II vs. Shelton
Fiske/Turner vs. Bradford

Key to the game. How will the OLinemen on both sides hold up?

@kmramsfan is a buddy of mine. I’ve known him for years. And yes. You’re both old AF.

Seattle Oline is their weakness. Their interior is missing a center but their guards are also weak. Their tackles are average.

Our Pass defense, when our rush doesn’t get home is our weakness.

Game comes down to our pass rush.

And ball security as always. If one of their pass rushers slip through Stafford needs to kill the play or hit the hot WR.

Know thy enemy.

This might be the game where Rams fans really start to hate the name Klint Kubiak. KK, not to be confused with Kliff, is the Squak OC. In 2023, as the 49er passing game specialist, he helped Brock Purdy lead that team to the SB. That year, Purdy led the league in yards per pass attempt and yards per completion. KK also spent 2023 with a disappointing former first round draft choice, Sam Darnold.

In 2024 KK took the OC job for the Saints. Derek Carr was the QB for 10 games. In 10 games, Carr led the league in lowest sack rate, getting sacked on 2.79% of his pass attempts. The Rams played the Saints in 2024 and got zero sacks and only 8 pressures on 37 pass attempts.

This year, KK is cruising with The Darnold. The Darnold is leading the league in yards per pass attempt and yards per completion. With the longer passing attack, The Darnold is only being sacked on 4.2% of his pass attempts. By comparison, Stafford is being sacked at a 4.32% rate and Mac Jones, who the Rams sacked zero times last week, has a 5.25% rate.

The Darnold's sack rate could be one of the biggest statistical indicators of his growth (if any). That 4.2% rate is, by far, the lowest of his career. In his break-out 2024 year, The Darnold was sacked at a 8.09% rate. Seeing how Carr, under KK, led the league in sack rate in 2024, it's fair to presume that KK has some role in The Darnold's improved sack rate.

KK might be the next hot QB whisperer (or not). NOT predicting that the Rams don't win, but anyone predicting the same old Darnold, is fairly likely to be disappointed.

(All stats from PFR)

Edit: Forgot to mention - Purdy and the 49ers got to the Super Bowl AND LOST!

Darnold looked pathetic in our playoff game last year. Had a deer in the headlights look, held onto the ball so long it was almost laughable. Sounds like they coached him up on this.

Really curious to see if he continues to show growth or if some of his old bad habits creep back in crunch time.
