I hope The Fisher King has somebody(ies) lined up to take over the OC mantel. I wonder if Mad Mike would be interested, even if Fish wanted to minimize empty backfields and maintain a balanced rush/pass attack? I would think there are a number of OC hopefuls who would love to take over a Horns' offense with so much promising talent.

Brian Schottenheimer leaves the St. Louis Rams, where he was offensive coordinator. He will be Georgia's OC and QB coach.

I don't trust Fisher to select the next Chip Kelly/Trestman/Lazor et. al.

Funny it was the team's worst record but I thought Schotty's best year as OC. If this was a year ago I would have been dancing, but now I thought the offense could build with Schotty going forward so I'm actually kinda sad to see him go. Still I think the offense has nowhere to go but up, so will be excited to hear the new name.

Some bombshells in the news this week, for sure. My hope is that the new system, and terminology, is similar. Hate the idea of starting from square one.
The other thing is, I hope this means that Fisher is tightening the reigns some, just seems to me like everything has been real hunky-dory even though our record says otherwise. I want our guys to come out of the chute pissed off and ready to win next year.

JT said in his chat a day ago that Rob Boras could be the guy. Our TE coach who's never called plays before... that doesn't inspire much in me.
Yeah, i have to say, my first thought was that we will probably promote from within. Fisher is big on consistency.

Let's go for more wild speculation! Let's say Fisher wanted to start Hill for the year and was ready to go back to him when his leg healed. Let's say Schotty said that he felt they should ride Davis and that he could continue to get a lot out of Davis. Fisher trusts his guys but in hindsight, they may have been better off just using Hill for most of the year. Maybe that's the straw that broke the camels back.
