Point taken. I could have been clearer. No fouls anywhere.
Now if you hadn't responded to him and said the exact same thing - I would have completely understood where you were coming from.

Things written can be so misleading without seeing the intent behind them.

And cheers:clinkingbeer:

So we'll be getting comp picks in 2027 and 2028 when he gets promoted to a head coaching gig somewhere. Smart move Rams.

We would also get a 2029 pick (if we get 27/28 picks for Scheelhaase) for Nicole Blake (a rising star in our college analytical scouting circle) if she becomes a GM for another team within that timeframe.

There’s also Ray Farmer to consider if he ever gets another GM job.

Director of Scouting to GM - hmmm - possible

I don't think he meant that in his statement.

I think he is seeing Nate definitely getting a coaching job next year with his promotion to OC and we getting two thirds as compensation.

Before accusing someone of inappropriate comments, please ask him about it.

Maybe it was inappropriate but I am reading into it differently.
Yeah, the expectation with him is that he's a one-and-done as a coordinator as long as he doesn't sh*t the bed as it were.

A co-coordinator?
Is that like a coordinator with a stuttering problem?
I seem to remember McVay doing something like that with a run game amd pass game OC. One was Boras maybe trying to remember his name. Granted he's his own OC but something is ringing a bell with this.

Doesn't he have to have the position for two years for us to get compensation picks?

Regardless, Congratulations to him. Shows he's well respected around the league and the Rams will have him call plays in the Pre-Season.

No has to be with the team for 2 years.

Still ridiculous that we are going through this charade. It's 2026. People get jobs on merit and there is no racism.

My thoughts on co-coordinator:

I am assuming with every coach touching McVay getting HC jobs that he is doing them a solid for their future. If they are in the "Offensive Coordinator" position even in a shared role it will get them interviews.

What matters here is that McVay is not going to hire a candidate based on his ethnicity. He's going to hire the candidate he thinks is best.

Nate's had a couple years of interviews for big jobs in a row. So if he performs in this role he's going to be a head coach. And we're going to get a third round pick. So here's hoping he kicks a whole lot of ass.

Quick curious question. Did the Dolphins get 3rd round picks when they hired McDaniel?

I don't remember that but I do remember co defensive coordinators John Bunting and Peter Giunta which, I believe lasted all of one season. Yes, the 1999 Super Bowl season under Vermeil.
