We have some nice young depth at ILB. Honestly this is the most talented group of ILBs we've had on the roster at the same time in a while

The bolded part, I'm not sure of. Howard is really the only one I trust right now, given that he's the only one of the linebackers who's actually excelled while playing. Kiser has barely played and was injured last year. Reeder is not a good player. Young didn't see the field after we traded for him. Johnston and the rest are rookies, and can't be counted on yet.

I could see us drafting two inside linebackers next year because right now, I feel that we're in dire straits at ILB. Hell, I'd argue that we're worse off there than our offensive line.

Is that a lot of IBU? I drank a beer tonight that's 60 IBU (Founders breakfast stout) and it's much too bitter for me. I've had them before and I thought a shot of bourbon (Garrison Brothers Single Barrel, free from my boss) might change the flavor profile enough to make it tolerable. It definitely went the opposite way.

For an IPA, my 50 is middle of road. Your 60 would be high compared to most beers though (bottom image).

doesn't look like xavier jones is gonna make a dent on the rb depth chart.

.

Yeah...DeMarco Farr seems most impressed with Kelly.

One of those updates... Jones was mentioned as having played well Saturday, though.

The Rams haven't had much depth at ILber with Hager filling in for Barron when he was out injuried. I thought Ramsey did fine for a fill-in but, not good enough to get resigned.

The jury is still out on this group which has had much playing time. Kiser making plays is good news. This was the first report on his play. I wish we had more to go on. I have a feeling he is ready to be a very solid player with two years of studying and working out. Should be better against the run than Littleton. Hopefully, he is able to be close to Littleton against the pass. Howard was ahead of Young so hopefully, he comes back soon. He was an upgrade over Reeder but, he is more of a cover guy being a former safety that can close on the run. I think Reeder can improve and become a solid substitute. Kenny Young has work to do against play-action which I read recently (maybe in this thread). I read he is athletic and can run so he is good depth with some experience. Rookie Johnston is unknown but, was a smart instinctive player in college. It could turn out to become a solid group with solid depth.

Reeder is sort of an ideal depth guy.
A try hard player that appears to understand the scheme/game.
Has some skills and thanks to last year, starting experience.
While backing up can fill a spot on ST, where he made some plays last year.

Reeder=Hager to me. Depth and ST player only.

It's impossible for me to say when I haven't seen the snaps. In a normal year we at least can form opinions from the preseason games, but this year has been rough in that way.

Re: Jones I'd think he still has a shot due to his (reported) impact in the passing game. It sounds like he's been showing well at the top of his routes and if so that should give him an advantage over the guys like Kelly. I have no problem with Kelly btw, it will just surprise me if McVay favors the basic RB type guy that he is over a guy who brings more flexibility like Jones does.

Could certainly be right.
But, a team needs solid depth guys.
Reeder has more ability and range than Hagar in my opinion.
Will be interesting to see if Reeder sticks this year.

IBU is generally your base bitters. Many hops bitter in different ways though. Some more mellow than others. Also, you don't get much IBU from hops added late in the boil, after flame out, dry hopping, etc. You can have an IPA that is fairly low in IBU but is still a hop bomb for example. Even traditional high alpha bittering hops are often used these days as flavor or aroma hops. Also, malt content and temperature of mashing can affect how the bitter comes through a beer. For example, 60 would be on the high side for a dry stout but not necessarily for a double IPA.

Reeder can also shed blocks. He's not great at it, but he can do it. Hager with a blocker on him is out of the play. I don't think they're close, Reeder is a far better depth player than Hager IMO and he also fits this defense better.

Agreed. I think Reeder will grow and get better. Not many UDFAs have to step in and start as Reeder did. It took Littleton a couple of years before he got regular PT.

10 Observations from the Rams' second scrimmage at SoFi Stadium
......................................................................9) Outside linebacker Leonard Floyd excelled at getting pressure early, forcing Goff into a pair of in completions.
I would bet that most of those ER Leonard Floyd pressure made their way to Goff ..................by way by RT Rob Havenstein.

Posted many times as of late it's great that Hav has come in slimmed down but his pass protection skills were need of some serious work. I have not seen anything yet that tells me I am going down a wrong path on this thought.

It also could be why David Edwards was moved out of his starting OG positions from 2019 to prep for future RT duty.

Exactly.
It was a trial by fire for Reeder last year.
I was actually impressed by how he handled it overall.
Although I got crapped on anytime I said it.
