I guess you see what you want to see? Doesn't look any different from QB hits we see all the time and doesn't look like he's head hunting with love turning into him trying to escape one Bear defender he runs into another.

I am with you on this spirit of what happened.
Fact is, its against the rules.
Like so many now, very difficult to 100% prevent with this type of game.
Several concerning things that you have to judge in real time, that may garner an auto 15:
1. Sound of the hit.
2. Defender tried to blow Love up, didn’t try to rap or strip the ball.
3. Defender ran in fairly vertical, normal you want to see that head to the side.
4. If Stafford didn’t get that call, all of us on this board would be crying for it.
If it’s a high school game I’m reffing, yup, it’s 15 for roughing the passer.
And for me what you don't see that I do is when he starts the run in at Love he's going at his back. The guy comes in Love's face he spins around and is now face up on the other Bear. That to me does not look at all dirty like the guy who I was quoting was not responding to anything you said.
Is it a penalty sure if you want to be flag happy. I was not posting that to say it was a penalty or not. Tumak made the implications that the Bears and that guy deliberately were head hunting Love and finally succeeded. I do not see anything at all to support that accusation.
Really tough on Caleb with these wideouts, top 2 are out and the guys playing are bad today dropping passes
I'm not saying it isn't a penalty though I find it hard to penalize a guy that you were going to hit from behind legally like QB's get hit multiple times every game they play. I agree with you though this is hard to prevent and I don't think this guy did anything wrong or had any ill intent.
That one that I think it was Zaccheus dropped right in the bread basket was brutal. He hasn't been great but he's not getting a lot of help either.
