I wasn't getting into the nuance of which routes he favors. I think it comes down to how he's crowded, and it seems to have an effect on his ability to get after the ball. Alligator arms, hearing footsteps, there's a lot of terms for it but he's got it I think.
And some will think I am shitting on him but I'm not. I recognized we are better for having him on this offense. He adds other elements we did not have. He has still made us more dangerous in the redzone. I see his value.
But going forward I think it positions the Rams where they are in trouble if Nacua misses time. Because he is the only automatic option over the middle, i.e. regardless of whether he's got defenders near him or in his six. And this is a first world problem by the way. Some teams don't have what we have. I'm just observing that for the playoff run the Rams could really use another weapon for over the middle.
Vs SF the TE position stepped up big time and minimized those concerns from myself for a week. But we saw them take a step back vs Seattle. So projecting this offense for the playoffs I think it's an important question to consider who is going to be our chain mover over the middle if Nacua is out, or taking a rest on the sideline, or otherwise eliminated by the defense we face in the playoffs.
