Shields apparently won't play in the Saints game. He will be traveling with the team but not playing according to McVay.

CB Sam Shields (illness) is listed as questionable and makes up the entire Rams injury report.

Could be the flu. It's that season.

Honestly, I dunno how athletes play with a bad cold/flu.

When I get one, granted, they turn into pneumonia pretty quick now, but I still feel like death warmed over.

That was a great read, made me really emotional, my husband is a TBI survivor (hit by a car while jogging) and I suffer from chronic migraines myself so a lot of that hit home. I'm really glad we have Shields, he will really be missed this Sunday, hope he feels better soon and hope his head stays protected

I got the sense that there was still a chance he could play from McVays conference. Just depends on if he feels better.

Same thing here, and that out of caution he wouldn't travel with team to protect them from what Shields has.

When I first saw this report I couldn’t help but wonder if there was some strategy at play here. I.e.... make us look vulnerable to the pass, so we could set the pass rush free.

Not to mention, an “illness” is really easy to suddenly get better on game day.
