Please, Fisher. Put him on the practice squad. He's more than earned a spot on this team.

I am very surprised Sam did not get claimed. This could be good news for the Rams. He surprised me by his play in preseason. I think he could be a very good value coming off the bench.

I know a lot of guys are bummed he didn't make the team. On the bright side, I won my 5,000 ROD$ bet that he wouldn't make the roster.

If by one dimensional you mean an high effort and chase type player, than I agree with you. It surely doesn't mean the ONLY thing he is a pass rush specialist. He can be effective against the run. I recall another high effort, chase type DE who made a pretty good name for himself starting with this organization. Grant Wistrom. And please, I am not saying Sam is the player that Wistrom was, just similar style who can be successful in this league.

Wistrom didn't have to line up wide of RT to make plays. And there are quite a few other high effort chase guys that have come out of college over the years that didn't make it, too.

Not sure why you keep harping on the whole wide 9 issue. He showed he doesn't have to be out there to get penetration. But the system calls for that technique (Long and Quinn use it quite often).

That's where I saw him have most of his success vs. anyone of any consequence and I realize that not all teams go with that split often, if at all, at LDE.

OR a one dimensional pass rushing LE who has to line up wide to make plays and can't play LB has limited fits in the NFL. That's possible, too.

That's just empirically not true. It's just...not. I'll just leave it at that.

Man he is somewhat small to play in NFL. I AM A Mizzou guy but he might not beable to withstand the rigors of NFL.

so did he make our PS or no?

I think its weird. The guy led our team in sacks in preseason and was top 3 in the league.

Claimed players must be put on the 53. I'm totally not surprised no other team in the league wanted him on the active roster. All the old memes about "distraction" or "media circus" and Combine numbers are still around even though he has 4 games of preseason showing that he can very much play in this league.

Unless the Rams make room for him on their PS, I expect for Michael Sam to be out of the league... I'd love to be wrong about that because I think he showed he can play and I'd love to think of the NFL as a meritocracy, but...
At this point knowing now what we do,I am surprised as hell, you can of course give all the 3/4 teams some benefit of the doubt that he wouldn't be a fit, but I know he'd be an upgrade for several 4/3 teams at the bottom of their depth charts.
I said in the beginning that us drafting him and letting him spend training camp here might have been a disservice and am still of that mind. I think we owe him a spot on the PS ,I do and but FWIW I won't argue about it.
The needle has been moved in my mind I'm not in a very complimentary mood of the rest of this league ,that's as far as I want to take this before I start throwing allegations I can't fully prove ,but I really feal like it Suffice it to say Mac out opinions have converged significantly on the grand scheme of this

you'd think a player that came that close to making the final cut would have a place on the practice squad. i say yes.

Michael Sam arrived at Rams Park several minutes ago for planned interview with Jeff Fisher Fisher.

There's a fix for you.Inhale it.

Haha. But when he arrived, was he driving or being driven by someone? Was he holding his chin up or not? How many minutes or hours do they predict he will be at Rams Park today?

And more importantly, has he showered today?

I think he lands on PS just as I thought all along. He has earned that much for sure.

Either he's not as good of a role player a lot of people thought he was or no teams want to take part of that media circus.
if the latter is true, then I wouldn't blame them. It's gonna be a long season.
