This is definitely not the QB I was hoping the Cards would land, short term this could be our worst nightmare...go ahead now and laugh boys.

If they can protect him I agree 100%

It's a good move for them, granted they also draft a QB(or two) to start developing.
Their mindset should no longer be win now every year.

Bradford would be a nice bridge QB, underrated in that aspect actually compared to some of these other guys. Question is whether the Cards can find their QB of the future in the draft.

Gonna enjoy this defense sacking Sam and picking his overpaid @$$ off though.

So if they did an NFL list of the 10 worst contracts paid to a QB, how many times would Sam come up?

I mean, like @jrry32 and mines worst nightmare that they draft Lamarr Jackson really they just need Bradford to play about 4-8 games while going with the usual "hot rookie waiting in the wings" schedule. Hopefully they fail to nab a rookie this year.

rodgers didn't play a down in his first 4 seasons. that means his second contract wasn't that big. watch how big his next one will be. $30m+ for a few years. he will pull far away from sammy in terms of career earnings.

.
Not true. Rodgers sat for 3 years and did mop up duty for Favre. His second contract was 6 years $63 million. In line with Brady's or a per year basis of about $10 million a year.

Yes, but how many years was Aaron Rogers sitting on the bench behind Favre before he became a Starter!
He still had a rookie contract under the same system Sam did. He made a lot of money off that deal to be a backup for a couple of years.

it's called exaggeration. sammy's first contract was 6 years for $72m as the #1 overall pick. no wonder they changed the rookie pay scheme.

if only sammy didn't have spags and fisher as his coaches. what could have been. he never stood a chance at becoming one of the elite qbs with those two bozos calling the shots.

His rookie contract was $7.655 for 5 years. Bradford's was $78 million for 6. Rodgers did have escalators - that mostly didn't come into play, because Favre kept going and going. Sam's contract broke the system, basically.
