Not condoning it at all... but I can see why they took that stance.

All they'd seen up to that point was five years of Fisher-ball and how bad it got last year. That's all they knew... oh, and a 31 year old head coach. We didn't know what to expect.

I can see why they'd be skeptical. Of course, we can do without the smug-ness. But straightforward reporting doesn't get audiences... we have to be outrageous.

So, the skepticism might have been warranted at that point in time... but the display is never warranted IMO.

There is no insight to this. They have no vision or understanding of which they spoke. Good journalists do. Russillo was too lazy to look beyond what he thought he already knew and went with the Rams and scratched up the surface, when he should have chosen the shovel and took the time to dig deeper.
