RUSSELL WILSONQB,
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
9News' Mike Klis said the Broncos will pursue Russell Wilson after Aaron Rodgers re-signed with the Packers.
Denver appeared well positioned to acquire Rodgers if he demanded a trade out of Green Bay. The Broncos have plenty of salary cap space and hired Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as their new head coach in February. The Broncos' mission to replace Peyton Manning after his 2015 retirement will continue with a pursuit of Wilson. Acquiring Seattle's franchise player "no doubt would require a minimum of two first-round draft picks and possibly three," Klis said. Loaded with offensive talent, the Broncos might be willing to mortgage their future of a viable quarterback. The Seahawks have made no qualms about shooting down any Wilson trade rumors over the past year.
Blockbuster: After weeks of negotiations, in one of the largest trades in NFL history, the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos have agreed to terms for a deal involving Super-Bowl winning QB Russell Wilson, sources tell ESPN. Trade is pending a physical and Wilson’s approval.
