I cringe at the thought of ED in a front office role.

Take whatever you read at TST with a grain of salt. Written by "arm chair" reporters with no background in sports reporting or training in journalism.

You're responding to and have read an article of TST and arguing with me about a TST report. I thought it was simple where I was coming from. This TST report you're arguing with me about states that it's possible the Rams could be offering Manning a role like what Elway has with the Bronco's. Most of us here all say the same thing. That's great but we would be better off if he worked towards that kind of position not be given it right away. You say that he shouldn't be given that kind of a job not even after working towards it at lesser jobs.
The only one whos arguing here is you sport, and I don't understand what you are talking about. I don't even know what TST is. This thread, among other media outlet BTW, is all over this Peyton Manning to LA stuff.
Arent you also responding to the "rumors" as well?
Whatever man. Seems like you just want to argue, which I'd love to oblige if I knew what the freak you were even talking about.

He was a great regular season QB, but that has nothing to do with running day to day operations.
Elway at least worked his way up, handing him a job strictly because he's Peyton Manning doesn't sit well

You said this to which I said most of your fellow ROD posters agree that we would be best off if he worked his way into an Elway type of role with the Rams and you proceeded to disagree with me from then on out.

I simply pointed out that almost all of ROD agreed with what you were posting and every time I posted that you argued with me. Sorry I'll drop it, don't want to argue at all just posted what we were all thinking which seemed to agree with what you were saying. Sorry subject dropped.

Any reason if he's part of the organization that he can't do both?

Not often do you see front office personnel doing double duty as position coached

But again, what do I know

I agree what do I know. I though can't see a guy like Peyton with his work ethic to not involve himself in whatever he wants to or feels he can help in if he were to take a job like that.

Where have I disagreed with anything you said?
I am trying to comprehend what you are arguing with me about.

I tell you what, PM is more ready for a role like this than Eric "The Great" Dickerson, and I see TONS of fans calling for ED to be brought in for a role in the Front Office. Manning is not only an accomplished NFL HOF QB but also someone who has done great in his business ventures. His family's football tutoring school has also been a success. So he alreay has more experience than even John Lynch for this type of role. I would be open to it. Just another sane, stabilizing voice in the Front office IMHO.

What sets Manning apart is his competitive drive and absolute insane work ethic. He would come in and work his @$$ off to make this team better. The front office would be smarter. With a guy like him you could pull a Ron Wolf and take a QB mid to late rounds every other draft or two and flip them for picks as well, because I'm pretty confident my scouting is immediately better if he's in the room with a prospect in a blackboard session.

That was the same thing, btw, that set Elway apart. Elway sold his pool table after he lost a game on it. Dude is a damn freak. Very similar types, Manning just has to learn the business side of things at someone's shoulder before he takes over. He's also a team player, so I'm sure he'd be capable of being hired as team president over the GM and learn on the job.

hmmmm....Should Les & Kev D be worried?
One speculation I saw elsewhere was KD went into a similar role as now but higher up in the Kroenke sports world and Peyton went a step above Snead. Just a thought I saw posted.

Yeah I agree, and I am a huge ED fan. He's not that guy who is going to do the work long-term. One of the greatest RBs and Rams of all time, but not the cerebral type, sorry to say. Love the dude but no way I'd hire him in that role.

Faulk is different. He's smart and has a deep understanding of the game and other positions, but even he pales in comparison to Manning.

Anyway, I am sure this whole thing is probably just rumors, but I'm still really excited by even the rarest possibility that it might happen.

I recall seeing the same thing, forget where though. That KD would move into overall administration to include things like the stadium build in addition to some of his current duties.
