With the 54th overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select:
Jeremy Cash - S/LB - Duke
This was a difficult pick to make as there are 3/4 players at positions of need still available from my board; all of whom have similar grade. In the end though, this boiled down to value, and Cash certainly has this in Zimmer's defense in Minnesota.
As a hybrid S/LB in the mould of Mark Barron or Deone Buchannon, Cash brings versitility and a physicality that will go a long way towards completing what is already a very good defense. Whether lined up next to Harrison Smith on the back end, or next to Barr and Kendricks at LB, Cash completes the unit in which he is playing, and pushes this D one step closer to being in the top 2 or 3 in the league.
