Be careful what you wish for, Alan in a proven 'Dangerous Picker!'Hey @Alan you have about an hour left before your pick. Get ready.
I think that would prove to be a little difficult, considering our membership is "World Wide" and all the different time zones. I doubt the Jets Fan Base is that spread out!
With the 28th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft the Chiefs assistant GM selects Jarran Reed, DT from Alabama.
I would have liked to address their biggest need which is at OLB or CB but I couldn't pass up filling one of their other top needs with such a highly rated player. The value just wasn't there at OLB or CB. BPA and need (need being a relative term here as backup QB is one of their top 4 needs so...) come together.

JARRAN REED, DT
SCHOOL: ALABAMA | CONFERENCE: SEC
COLLEGE EXPERIENCE: SENIOR | HOMETOWN: GOLDSBORO, NC
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-3 / 307 LBS.
PROJECTED RANKING
OVERALL 19 (14 at ESPN)
POSITION 3 (1 at ESPN)
PROJ. RND. 1
PLAYER OVERVIEW
Reed considered parlaying a strong junior season into an early jump into the NFL, but opted to return for the 2015 season. He continued to improve his draft stock as a senior, earning second team All-SEC honors by the Associated Press by finishing fourth on the team with 56 ackles, including one sacs, two pass breakups, eight quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery in 14 starts.
Reed arrived in Tuscaloosa in January 2014 as a JUCO transfer and after a sluggish start, he settled in and showed improvements each week with his ball awareness and limb use. While he doesn't receive nearly the attention or recognition as A'Shawn Robinson, Reed stands out on film just as much, if not more, when studying Alabama's defensive line.
He was the third leading tackler returning to the Crimson Tide defense in 2015 after finishing the previous season with 55 stops, including 6.5 for loss and five pass break-ups at the line of scrimmage.
Reed chose Alabama over Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Nebraska and Kentucky.
STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES
STRENGTHS: Reed was the anchor of Alabama's defensive front with the power and coordination at the contact point to absorb blockers and leverage the point of attack. Changes directions surprisingly well for a big man, accelerates smoothly and hustles to the ball.
He displays terrific sense perception to feel moving bodies around him, muddying the middle of the line and forcing offenses to run outside the hashes. As a tackler, he looks to punish the ballcarrier, driving his hips and finishing through the whistle.
At the Senior Bowl, consistently stood up would-be blockers at the line of scrimmage, bottling up the running game.
WEAKNESSES: Good effort in pursuit but will tire quickly. Limited pass rush skills and doesn't show the functional moves to beat blockers and infiltrate the pocket. Not a three-down player in every scheme. Will stand up at times off the snap, negating his ability to two-gap. Average overall range and pursuit speed with minimal impact outside the hashes.
IN OUR VIEW: Country strong with tree trunks for thighs and long arms, Reed is a classic two-gap run-stuffer stout enough to play inside at defensive tackle or outside at end. At 6-3, 311 pounds, Reed has the girth and strength to line up virtually anywhere along the defensive line, making him a fit for 3-4 and 4-3 teams, alike.
COMPARES TO: Dan Williams, DT, Oakland Raiders - Reed and Williams are well-built, nimble nose tackles who are capable of shutting down the run, appealing to various NFL schemes.
Really Good pick, as usual Alan!! Now maybe we can get this 1st round over!!:yess::icare:With the 28th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft the Chiefs assistant GM selects Jarran Reed, DT from Alabama.

Well, that kinda sucked! With the 29th selection in the 2016 ROD NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals have selected Paxton Lynch QB from Memphis. Value and (future) need couldn't be passed up here as we were focused on interior OL, however Lynch brings an immense amount of tangibles and will be allowed time to develop.
