The chargers are pretty sure we will have a player we covet at 3 but would be crazy not to listen to any and all offers
Glad you mentioned that. ALL trades need to be realistic.Offers must be realistic though.
On the rediculous front - is the thought the Jets gave up too much?
Cause from where I'm sitting, I gave up a piece we likely can't sign long term and gave up no future year picks at all to get my guy. And I still have any compensatory picks we get.
If - and it likely won't happen - but if #1 gets moved - I'll bet the price tag is more.
Hey, chip kelly your entire team if you want. The part I'm not ok with, is how early it's been done. You may be trading assets that you don't even own come the offseason. What if in real life, the jets and 9ers strike a deal and the jets send some picks to the 9ers? Because of this premature trade, I get screwed come mock draft time? Or any owner for that matter? The speculation is huge regarding the Titans trading that pick too. If they trade it come free agency to the Rams, the owner of the Rams in our mock suddenly gets screwed over. Why wait for free agency to end, to do this mock, if nothing that happens in real time even matters? That's all I'm saying. If real time is irrelevant, let's start this draft tomorrow.
After giving this trade some more thought, it appears to be a pretty good deal for the Jets (as flv said). Yeah they gave up all their picks for the ability to get their first choice of QBs but compare it to the deal the Rams got and Washington was picking much higher than 20th. Which would you rather have, two first round & one second round pick or one 2nd round, one 3rd round, one 4th round, one 5th round one 6th round and one 7th round pick + Wilkerson for 1 year at a very high salary? I'd much rather have our deal and we only had the 2nd round pick. I think the Titans got robbed unless Wilkerson is a stud and is willing to stay with the Titans for more than one year. Even then I'm not sure I'd do that deal were I the Titans.JackDRams wondering about the ramifications:
Quick question. Aside from that trade being absolutely rediculous, what happens if in real life, if the jets or Titans trade away picks, or even Wilkerson to other teams? Does it nullify this premature trade? The offseason hasn't even started yet.
Regardless of their needs, I don't think it's a good idea to sell at bargain rates.Dieter the Brock looking at it from a different angle:
This trade favors the Titans
They have two young QB's in Mariotta and Mettenberger so drafting that high is not so hot unless you're looking at Bosa
They can pick up a solid OL at #20 that they'd have picked at #1 and with the extra picks can package those now to move up in the late first or higher!
Dont feel bad. I seem to have missed a lot of info myself. Last year we had two drafts. Pre and post FAQuestion: Is this happening after or before FA signings? If before, are we assuming that FAs are resigned?
Sorry if I missed this info
