To me, it looks like they haven't shut the door on a return to the promise land when we have a ton of cap in 2024

It looks like Robinson's deal is heavily weighted with incentives. Base salary is only $4M. Unfortunately, this deal likely doesn't improve the Rams' compensatory picks.

I thought of that. I also wonder if maybe those guys are not as good as we think. Maybe the defensive losses won't be as bad? I kinda hope its because they want to return and the Rams are clearing space for that next year. Those guys all contributed to playing solid defense in the championship run.
