Apparently it's "cardiovascular related" and won't require surgery or anything. My guess is an irregular heartbeat or something

I hope Gaines kicked ass in training this offseason because this opens the door for him. I have faith in him.

I remember PFF saying that Robinson was our most head scratching free agency signing because gaines is already a fantastic run stuffer.

Man that's a bummer. I hope he's OK and that he comes back before we play the whiners.

It seems to me that Gaines hardly played last year and was not even active for some games.

“It’s not anything that’s too concerning,” McVay said. “I’m glad we were able to get a hold of it early on. It’s something that surprised us. This wasn’t something we expected.”

That's at least some encouraging news.

They meant more in college. But the Rams tend to redshirt young guys because we had vets with the exception of Rapp.

It's reported to be cardiovascular related. My guess iss he'll have to do cardio rehab while monitoring.

The Rams might be without one of their defensive starters for a part of the season.

Defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson, who was placed on the Non-Football Injury list Saturday, has been sidelined by a recently identified medical condition and his return to football-related activities is unknown, Los Angeles coach Sean McVay told reporters Sunday. McVay didn't disclose what exactly is ailing Robinson but intimated he could miss games.

"We'll look forward to getting him back at some point this season. When that is, I don't know specifically," McVay said. "... It's really not anything that's too concerning, it's more just really glad that we were able to get a hold of it early on. I've really been pleased with the way that it's been handled over the last couple of days. But it was something that kind of surprised us. This wasn't something that we expected."

Robinson is still permitted to be around his new team, signaling that his condition is not contagious. McVay added that this development was discovered soon after he reported to training camp.

The Rams signed Robinson to a two-year deal this offseason. The fifth-year lineman spent the previous four seasons with the Lions, who drafted him out of Alabama in the second round in 2016. Robinson has tallied 172 tackles, including 16 for loss and five sacks, while starting 37 of 58 games in his career.
He's pegged to be L.A.'s primary nose tackle, with Sebastian Joseph-Day and Greg Gaines possibly filling in.

Enlarged heart with irregular beat/murmur? Just a guess, but fingers crossed for him and hope he kicks its butt!

Hard to guess otherwise based on coach's description. Really proud how supportive and humanitarian the Rams are of him accordingly.

Well Hoecht just returned so he would be a better option than SJD. Hoecht has excellent speed, strength and a good first step. He would be the perfect compliment to AD at 1T. Backed up by Gaines and they are good until Robinson returns.

Allen?
I think we're talking about the nose tackle Robinson we just signed.
No, someone earlier on said brian allen was on the list too. As i recall he had it months ago, the first in the league.

Yep - Brian Allen came on & talked about having it right before The Rams drafted in the 2nd rd ?? T. Lewis or Burgess ??

I’m not sure how Ram fans knew before that though ?? I think the NFL has discloser issues on players rights ?? Medical health records, maybe it is a offseason thing as well.
The Rams have been good protecting players since Sean McVay has been the HC.

Your always talking Apples & Oranges.
Will see how The Rams want display them ?? Right now there is no real merit on Hoeecht even making The Rams roster ?? Fake News !!
Any facts ?? Is this your fantasy lineup ??
I really don’t know for sure what is going on with Robinson. My hope was he would be The Ram up the middle.Blowing up gaps so DLman could help expose certain holes .

Combine numbers are good. I’m just asking why all 32 NFL teams are so dumb not to draft a Stud DT with all kinds of speed. The next Aaron Donald ?? I mean The Rams are not all that smart. They drafted Greg Robinson number #2 overall & got lucky to draft Aaron Donald at like #11 ??

Kromer was at least smart enough to have The Rams trade Greg Robinson &
see if he might even be able to play guard. The Rams were able to trade that other guard Jamon Brown.
Only to have Austin Blythe as the starting RG when The Rams went to the SuperBowl.

I just hope Robinson's going to be okay. Football is always secondary to health.
