Rickman wasn't the main star in this movie--Tim Allen was great--but Rickman gave such credibility to his "mis-cast English thespian" / "abused Patrick Stewart" role that his lines are by far the best in this movie. It's one of my all-time favorite comedies, if you haven't seen Galaxy Quest you should. Lots of great performances in this movie w/ a great cast, including Rickman, Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Tony Shaloub ("Monk"), the guy who plays "Mathesar", etc.--even the fan-boy kid is great.
