Assuming Stafford is ready to go after the bye and stays healthy, we might pull off some upsets down the stretch, and have two games we "should win" (but both are on the road, @NYG and @Arizona - I'd put the Rams about on par with Washington). It will be interesting to see where our 1st rounder ends up. Quite a range of possible outcomes still. Without Stafford we likely lose out or come close to it. Maybe we could beat the Giants even without #9 given their equally sad QB situation now that Jones and Tyrod Taylor are both out longer term.
I wouldn't be surprised if THIS IS THE SEASON the League sets in motion the comings of a Draft Lottery. Has the potential to be really bad down the stretch with lots of teams wanting to lose. For instance, Chicago plays Arizona, could get really ugly.

The ironic thing, is that many of the same people that want us to tank, will be flipping the hell out after every loss.

I'm never going to be happy about a loss. Ok, small correction; we are playing the last game of the year and it comes down to if we lose we get 1st overall pick, I'm going to be happy with a loss because its a huge gain for the teams future.

Realistically, we aren't winning anything this year especially with Stafford banged up already. His thumb might not be the same all year. Our best case scenario was always making playoffs via wild card, but, I think that's likely out the window also. I see 4 more potential wins, and those rely heavily upon Staffords health. No Stafford and no shot at sniffing a victory, our alternatives are that bad. 4 more wins gets us to 7-11, nowhere close to playoffs.

Since my Rams are not doing anything in the post season, I'm starting draft prep early. And we haven't had a 1st rounder since Nixon was in office, its a strange new world.

I can see it now.... 49r's resting anyone remotely identified as a starter -- and the Rams trying to roll over and tank.... That ought to be one thrilling contest. :weary:

Top 5 to date appear to be:

QB Caleb Williams, USC
QB Drake Maye, North Carolina
WR Marvin Harrison, Ohio State
OT Olu Fashanu, Penn State
OT Joe Alt, Notre Dame

#6? No idea.

For #6 the LA Rams will be trading down and acquiring a 3rd, Two 6's and a 7th round pick.... :laugh1:

Dominate: Marvin Harrison Jr uses his speed and agility to domina....

Nevermind... It's hopeless at this point.

How about we root for the Chargers to continue to suck? Then we can make some sweetheart deal with them in exchange for free rent?

The Spanos clan may go for it...

Last time the Rams had the sixth pick, they got Big Game Torry Holt. But Pace and Winstorm were drafted 1st and 6th the two prior years.

I really think if the Rams are that high, QB is the must pick. Go get your LT in round two. Again, Williams will be gone, but Maye could be there along with my choice J.J. McCarthy.
That was my feeling also, if we are that high we need to score the QB, we might never be in this good of a position again.

I could get on board with Alt and then McCarthy, I do have concerns about both and you better get a perennial top 5 or 10 at their position with one and a high quality starter minimum with the other. Lots of road to travel first but that is at least realistic as things stand now

.

How is this even a discussion? Are the Rams gonna suck even with Stafford out there? He's day to day, not month to month. Unless Mcvay is telling porkies once again.
