Nice to see you on the positive tip, keep it up. I will be surprised as punch, but the hope you are right
It’s just that I prefer to call a spade a spade, some people can’t deal with it and that’s fine. Not saying I know everything because I’m still wrong, but quite a bit personal experience and NFL fandom history does show its head as being right more often then not.

The nice thing when you put your money where your mouth is and get rewarded for it.

Well, he weights a tad more than 78 and I expect they are going to want to see him returning punts. Again, I would not be shocked if they added a player specifically for that reason.
So did I read correctly that he never returned punts in college?

Atwell?

Four returns in 3 years and as for running very mixed to bad results.
Well if you look at his college highlights it has 2 big punt returns in it. So if he had only 4 returns and 2 of them turned into big plays then thats a great ratio. He'll have DJax giving him return tips too because at one time he was one of the most feared returners in the game. I think it just makes too much sense to put him in on punts. He's proven to be able to track the ball well and has good hands, all things that should bode well for him on special teams.

I doubt it. They will role with what they got.The Rams draft pen pointed special teams.I don’t think they mess to much of what they got.Tutu maybe a PR ? I don’t think it will be in 2021.
Will find out fairly soon though.

I guess we’ll see ..... Im leaning towards McVays propensity to not give the rooks much leway.
To me its a little suprising that a forward thinking coach is reluctent to play the rooks but maybe this year will be different. Doubt it, but anything is possible.

One thing to remember is that DeCamillis wanted speed on STs and especially in his returners. A punt returner must be able to go immediately to afterburners which is something Funk hasn't shown. That said there is no denying Funks long speed and elusiveness so he makes a lot of sense on KO where he doesn't have to immediately go to afterburners. If DeCamillis has a say I think both Atwater and Funk would appeal to him. Since Atwater is buried on the depth chart this year it makes sense to use him in any way they can to make an impact. A long punt return sounds like exactly that.

He returned 4 punts, but DeSean Jackson will be mentor and I'm sure will work with him returning punts, also don't count out Jackson returning punts too, although from a health standpoint that would be a gamble.

Yeah, his running was not good at all. He's not a juke and spin or weaver type. If he doesn't have a clear angle or open space to use his jets, he gets tackled with ease.

Rush Att 12, Yards 26, Avg 2.2, TD 1

I wonder why his head coach only allowed him to return punts 4 times? All 4 in 2019 & None in 2018 or 2020.

Punt Ret 4, Yards 84, Avg 21.0, TD 0

(Was the HC worried Tutu wouldn't hold up health whys for the duration of a season?)

The Rams need to be extra cautious with how they use our little speedy Gonzales.

.it would point to some poor decision making.
Can't agree with you here Boni. That would be like saying having Patrick Peterson return punts showed poor decision making.

There have been a number of starters returning punts. So using RR in this role, if he is the best choice, would be simply utilizing a player's abilities and skills to best help the team.

It would look like that my concerns over the current CB cadre are much different than yours here.

I have a bad take @ this point with our backup corners @ this time so it would naturally spill over into (what I believe) is the utilization of your best prospective Ram team 3rd corner & only drafted corner being used as a primary on Special Teams with so many other position groups being stuffed with good athletes like the Safety/ WR/ RB groups.

Speaking for myself would desire that lone young corner full attention be directed to learning to play outside corner if Ramsey or Williams goes down because CB David Long has been a very large disappointment.

I get it but if your CB is stellar at the return game, you don't protect him from those few plays. I brought up PP as an example of one I remember well.

#5 overall in the draft, Probowl CB, return specialist.

In this case, Peterson wasn't just a potential depth guy. He was THE guy.

I also have a hard time with the idea that the guy can't learn defensive nuances while doing the intuitive job of returning punts. It's also pretty rare that a punt returner gets blown up on a return.

donte deayon had return experience at boise st. not sure he will even make the team but could have a slight chance if he makes the team.

When asked what he brings to the team didn’t Atwell say punt returns? Not saying he gets the job but just stating his words.

Just when I finally forget Rams ultra-light KR JO Jo they go right back and get his clone Tu Tu.

Jo Jo Natson 5'7" 155lbs. Tu Tu Atwell 5'6" 155 lbs.

Jo Jo = Tu Tu?

Somehow the simalarities, (height, weight, 2 letter double first name) remind me of a Twilight Zone episode.

I thought Jo Jo Natson was 5'4 145 lbs

I thought Tutu was 5'3 135 lbs

Has anyone seen Tutu? I heard he was on the practice field today.
