Well, lo and behold this regime just aggressively went out and solved it.

Yo if there was a problem yo I'll solve it.

Couldn't resist.......sorry

Playing madden is going to be fun again with our high powered offense!

Wow, let's hit the brakes this team hasn't done anything on offense yet.

For Goff this is a season of no excuses. He literally has a cache of WRs to make him look good now.

How many of these guys have experience? Can stay healthy? Have done anything in the NFL?

Let's let things develop. And Goff is going to take a year or a little more IMO to get where we want to see him. It'll take a minute, so we can't judge his career arc on this year.

This is my guess:
X - Sammy Watkins/Josh Reynolds
Z - Robert Woods/Tavon Austin
SL - Cooper Kupp/Pharoh Cooper
Suspension: Mike Thomas
Practice Squad: Nelson Spruce (if he makes it) and Shakeir Ryan
You think they keep 7 when Thomas is off suspension?

Everyone's talking about how much Watkins is going to help out Austin... I think Robert Woods is going to benefit the most with his buddy Sammy getting the double coverage. Woods may really excel in this role as the #2! Watkins is going to make everyone play better!

Agreed. When Watkins draws the other team's top CB look what that does for Woods & Kupp. I'm feelin like this dude right now:

Tavon is so versatile and dynamic... to me, this trade just further alleviates pressure from him being the #1 guy, and just let him focus on being an all-around playmaker in the rushing, receiving and return game.

A lot still relies on the protection he gets. You can have the greatest cadre of WR's the game has ever seen but you can't hit them from the flat of your back. Thankfully, the O line looks to be improved based on the snippets we've seen in camp and our skirmishes with the Chargers.

True, but with what this staff is installing should be rush recognition. Yes protection is always good no doubt, but if Goff can buy time if protection fails that will make his pocket awareness elite and even more dangerous.

So this is basically another "trade Tavon" thread.

You do realize that trading Tavon not only takes away his WR and RB skills, but also a huge weapon in the PR game? That's obviously yuge for field position, let alone potential TDs. Who on this roster is as good a return man as he is?
That's one expensive PR!

Almost seems like there's not enough ball to go around, dont forget there's also the TE's that will be getting there's! It would be a nice problem to have! My god are we actually going to have a viable competitive offense this year?!

So true. I'm hoping McVay had something to do with the way Cousins' quick-release game developed in Washington. A lot of times the ball's out before a pass rusher could get to him even running unimpeded.

Like I said in another thread, don't be surprised if Austin transitions to backup running back/wide receiver/ punt returner/weapon. That'll open up another slot. Here's how I'd do this:

WR

Sammy Watkins. (Our new number one receiver.)
Robert Woods. (Solid, reliable, our number two.)
Cooper Kupp. (Looks to be our new slot receiver.)
Josh Reynolds. (Stays because he was just drafted.)
Pharoh Cooper. (Backup punt returner, starting kick returner.)
Mike Thomas. (Our best gunner.)

RB

Todd Gurley. (One of our best offensive players.)
Tavon Austin. (Starting punt returner, also factors at wide receiver as well as backup running back.)
Sam Rogers. (Starting fullback, yet another receiving threat.)
Malcolm Brown. (Backup running back, third down?)

TE

Tyler Higbee. (Our starter at tight end, could see a large volume of passes thrown his way.)
Gerald Everett. (The Jordan Reed of our team.)
Temarrick Hemingway. (A sleeper at tight end, and one of my players to watch for.)

Pretty much how I see it, although with Dunbar & Reynolds being on the PUP list and Spruce/McRoberts at 5 & 6 until Thomas returns from suspension.

A punt returner getting paid as the 3rd highest WR contract for 2017. Brilliant lol. I know we're pretty much locked in but we could find somebody to do what he does for a fraction of a fraction of the cost only emphasizing how colossal of a mistake that contract extension was.

And the crazy thing is he only averages 8.27 yards per punt return good for only 11th in the NFL lol.

lol

He also plays from the backfield and out wide lol. And produces from all 3 spots lol

But hey, focus on a contract and not what he offers on the field.

lol
