Well they likely are the best at what they do and maybe their money hasn't gone up much when the rest of the league is lining their pockets.

However - they have no real leverage at this point. No one else is really going to be on their side because of the nature of their profession.

The only thing they can hope is replacement refs come in and fuck it up all to hell.

Otherwise, they are likely screwing themselves.

Who cares. Everyone will hate the regular refs, the replacement refs, the refs in the booth, the refs in New York. The most pointless thing to worry about is the refs.

They have zero leverage. The NFL won't back them, the teams will not back them, and the fans don't care. The NFL will be looking for new refs as early as May I would expect. Just to keep the pressure on.
Do you remember how badly the “replacement refs” were?
I sure do

With everyone around them being millionaires.. the refs need to be paid more. Not because they deserve it.. but with legal gambling they need to remove the temptation to influence games.
Most refs are already lawyers or other high profile professions as their regular jobs. I don't think any of the refs are not "rich" by the average joes standards. I think if a ref has a gambling problem a few hundred grand more isn't going to tempt them from their disease.

I just want better training and the NFL to uncomplicate their rule book. If the refs want to be paid so much more than I would require them to make it their full time jobs during the season with dedicated trainings between their weekly games to go over film and through offseason on rule changes and cleaning up stuff.
