We can analyze everything that happened last year, but at the end of the day we need at least a upgrade at Center and RG or LG, Whit at LT, Havenstein or Evans at RT, Corbett at LG and draft the top C and hope u pick the right one all bunched near the top. I would make a play for Thuney or Scherrf either one helps the interior massively maybe you trade Cooks to Washington for Scherff or a TE and a low pick for Thuney a I remember was when Timnernan came over with Pace that OL soared.

We must upgrade we have no idea how Allen and Boom are going to do.

We'll see.....but the real question I have for you is when will you get a Richardson avatar!?
Maybe when he can show an ability to eat carries. I really like his skill set and what he's done for us in small sample size but him getting dinged up in said small sample size is a big concern for me. So right now I see him as a change of pace and third down guy and expect the Rams to take a back who can eat carries.

Going through the trauma of figuring out the new avatar right now yeah lol. It sucks.

Does that fall on the coaches or the players? Or the GM. Or all of them.
Good question and I do not know. But I do believe the coaches do not have a whole lot of confidence in these late draft picks for Oline over the last two years. it seems to me the rams theory of drafting oline late and kroner will coach them up is starting to waver.

Littleton wasn’t a fit in new system. We needed better run stoppers. Floyd can do everything good.

1) the OL was a mess that failed to show signs of improvement until AFTER the injuries set in. Edwards at LG was the beginning. Only after Blythe had to move to Center did Edwards get shifted to the right side. I would like to see Edwards next to Whitworth on the left for a full season.
2) Noteboom was much better in his limited reps at LT than he ever was at LG. That desperation move failed. He might still be in the running to replace Whitworth down the line (see what I did there?).
3) until last season, Havs had become one of the best RTs in football, especially in the run game. I don't know when exactly he was hurt and started playing through it, but he was terrible last year and was EVENTUALLY hurt at the very least. I'm more than willing to put him back at RT and see how it goes. If you go back and watch games from 2018, you will see just how devastating he and Higbee were teamed up on run plays.
4) Allen was not ready. It was too soon and might not ever be--starting. DRAFT A STARTING CENTER, NOT A PROJECT/DEVELOPMENT GUY.
5) Evans could turn out to be the #6 OL, which would not be a bad thing necessarily if he doesn't win the battle for starting RG.

I am in no way saying the OL will be Ok given the current roster, but I'm a lot more optimistic about it than I was last year when I knew we were going into the season starting Noteboom at LG and Allen at Center.

I would believe that Kromer had figured out it's a strong possibility he might end up with three starters all with less than a seasons worth of starts when this season begins (Edwards/Evans/Corbett). Another 2nd yr OL'er Brewer who has zero starts might also end up winning the all important #6th OL'er position too. Pressing to sign back two veteran starters with several years as starters for the Rams was vital.

Having a long time starting recent all pro Andrew Whitworth in that huddle with Goff when the pressure is on has an unbelievable amount of value to this offense.

The fact they resigned Whit seems to tell me that they don't think Noteboom will be ready to play and want to give him time to totally heal and train. IMO it's a redshirt year for him. As far as not knowing if he can play just watch his game in 2018 at LT and yes he can play and play well.

DaSilva IMO is full of crap and continues to show he simply doesn't know football. Blythe isn't a starting quality NFL player and anyone who seriously breaks down his play can see that. Austin's contract numbers haven't been disclosed but it's said to be a one year deal to "compete" for a spot on the roster not as a confirmed starter. Havenstein is the biggest albatross around the O-lines neck right now. His contract is a killer because he proved he can't play against top competition. IMO he's gone next year. His dead cap is too large to release this year on top of Gurley's.

IMO the o-line right now should be:

LT Whitworth
LG Corbett
C Allen
RG Evans
RT Edwards

Gameday reserves: Brewer or Havenstein, Shelton

I agree with those that see Noteboom starting on PUP. There is no question that Allen outplayed both Blythe and Sullivan. Anyone breaking down his plays compared to both Blythe and Sullivan can see that. As a first year starter, Allen played as well as can be expected prior to his injury. I don't like PFF but even they think so as well.

If Allen is healthy he will be the starter at C as the Rams didn't draft him to give up on him simply because he got hurt. Corbett they traded for so like Allen I don't think they will give up on him either as well. He made some mistakes but he played well enough to deserve to continue to develop. It's clear he helped stabilize that left side once he started.

I still maintain both Evans and Edwards are out of position at OT and OG respectively. Evans is a natural OG with Edwards a natural OT.

.

I don't think it will be a red shirt year for noteboom but i don't think the rams wanted to 100% rely on him to protect Jared's blindside for this season.

The fact rams signed whit and Blythe shows me the backups are not ready. Especially considering our cap situation.

So you're implying their eval skills are adequate, after what they trotted out there last year? I've lost a bit of faith in that myself.
