Brandin Cooks looks ripped and determined to bounce back in 2020

Brandin Cooks had an extremely disappointing season in 2019 after racking up at least 1,000 yards in each of the previous four years. Two concussions and missed time on the field certainly played a role in his struggles, seemingly never getting on the same page as Jared Goff.

He’s been hard at work this offseason and looks determined to bounce back in 2020. Cooks has been training with Travelle Gaines in Los Angeles, who’s also Todd Gurley’s trainer, and looks to be in excellent shape.

With everyone being cautious due to the spread of the coronavirus, Cooks has been working out at home and shared a few videos of his workouts recently and there doesn’t appear to be an ounce of fat on his body.

Obviously, much more goes into having success on the field than just working out and staying in shape, but Cooks knows his performance in 2019 wasn’t good enough. He’s putting in the necessary work to rebound with a campaign that more closely resembles the others he’s put together in the NFL.

“Personally, I just want to be the best I can possibly be to help my team get out of some of those situations,” Cooks told Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire last month. “I feel like I truly am more hungry — like that hunger I had before I made it into the league. That fight and that want and that desire from my childhood has risen back to the surface after what went on last year.”

The season is still six months away, but Cooks is already on the right track in 2020.

Pulling for him. Sure would be nice to see a huge bounceback season from our deep threat.

So! ... our resident Speedy Gonzales is adding some Mighty Mouse muscle to his frame. Alrighty now! Robert Woods turns into a feature RB after the catch; Cooper Kupp rumbles like a light weight FB, and now Brandin wants to be the Roadrunner on steroids. All we need is for our TE tag team to adopt their own distinctive after catch personas, and we might be seeing a legitimate sequel to the GSOT.

Considering the contract we signed for him, I'll be rooting hard for a major breakout season

You have to like BC's attitude. He has to keep his head up to avoid those head hits. He can bounce back and produce as he always has. Sometimes I think Goff goes to Woods even when Cooks is open deeper on those layered crossings to the sideline. Cooks need to keep the legs in shape to stretch the field. Glad to see he is preparing for another great season.

Cooks improvement will inevitably be tied to our OL improvement. Looking forward to seeing what the Rams do in free agency and the draft for that Line as well as the offense as a whole to take it to the next level.

If we can't run the ball effectively, it won't matter how good of shape Cooks is in. We desperately need to upgrade our O-line: free agency, draft picks , trades, whatever. If we can move the sticks by running the ball the passing game will thrive. If not, it will be a long season. We have enough skill player talent to be good be it pass or run. The O-line is the huge question mark.

No reason to think he won’t bounce back if he can get those head injuries behind him.

Dude is a hard worker, so it won’t be for lack of effort.

Not worried about Cooks from the neck down, he worries me from the neck up as he’s one concussion away from retirement
