Hey Merlin,

Interesting read on Uche being a Wolverine fan and I follow them just about as closely as I do our team. I do watch every Wolverine game and heartbreak. -_-

As Jry stated no way Utche has the instincts for ILB and honestly I wouldn't feel comfortable drafting him as a OLB until rd 3 at the earliest. He barely earned his right to start this year and he mostly ate up on bad teams but disappears a lot against average to above average and especially vastly talented players. I really don't see him as a prospect for who will be on the board when we pick tbh and how he's valued/rated. On coverage there are times I'm :palm: with Uche.

I love me some Baun and if you watch games with him he can take over games with disruption. There is a decent chance he's there at 52.

I'll say this for Uche, the tools are off the charts. There ain't too many guys who have the power/strength to bullrush Iowa's monster OTs into the QB's face, drop back and cover the deep middle of the field like a Tampa-2 Mike, and give OTs heartburn with speed and cornering ability. He has a very unique skill-set. If a coaching staff can put the pieces together and polish his game, his potential is immense, like James Harrison immense. But he has a ways to go.

I hear that. Thinking it will take him 2 years to even get close to that level though. Believe me, I would love it being a Michigan man myself.

Now Brady having success I’m very split on it...

I don't agree with them. Let's nip this in the bud now, we're not going to trade up into the first for an ILB, so I won't even bother with that round. My opinion is:
Round 2 - Zach Baun ILB Wisconsin
Round 3 - Troy Dye ILB Oregon (but Davis-Gaither is also a good pick)
Round 4 - David Woodward ILB Utah State
Round 5 - Evan Weaver ILB California
Round 6 - Joe Bachie ILB Michigan State
Round 7 - Shaun Bradley ILB Temple

But who knows who will be available in the 5th through 7th rounds.

Davis-Gaither is an intriguing prospect who gets off blocks, plays downhill and has room to add muscle to his frame. He would be a great pick provided we employ our ILBs in zone coverage. Have we got any idea on how he might fit our new scheme?

He'd fit in fine. Like Troy Dye, he's a guy I'd target in the third round.

Nobody have interest in Strnad as a late round pick? I wonder how high he's be traded if he didn't read a myscle .

I'm pretty down with these two. I picked them 4th and 5th for Tampa Bay in our ROD mock draft.

4th - Akeem Davis-Gaither, OLB, Appalachian State

5th - Joe Bachie, ILB, Michigan State

DeSilva has them as the 3rd and 5th!

I did some research and watched a little film

I am really impressed with Troy Dye ILB Oregon (Jrry32). Having read the reports, watched him play and heard about his leadership skills, he might go mid-second depending on where those in front of him fall. He should be in the conversation as the 4th best LB in the draft IMO

He brings a lot to the table and is evidently coachable
