I tend to think it is time to move Ramsey to Free Safety next year. Even though his coverage skills have slipped a bit he would make more plays as a safety at this point. This is why I want the Rams to take a Corner in the draft. I would be good with using our 2nd rounder but no lower than our 3rd. I would like to add a Corner in FA if we can afford one as I think that this move is inevitable and the Rams need to shore up the secondary to compete going forward.I read something recently about if Ramsey were to move to safety he would be the best in the league and potentially make a much bigger impact on the defense. Thoughts?
Coby Bryant I liked better than Bruss.
I know The Rams did good with there other CB’s though
Well I don’t know what is best for Ramsey? Never knew how tight him & Derwin James were.
Regarding the topic…I think Ramsey should stay at CB, but I’d like to see him return to the role of shutting down the opposition’s best WR, rather than roaming.
Agreed, I think people are way over blowing his play this year. He has had a couple bad plays (every CB gets burnt here and there) but I think most of the other ones were due to scheme and failures of another player. I like the idea of Ramsey playing safety later in his career because I love his awareness, toughness, and athleticism but he is still years away from that needing to be done.I know PPF isn’t a favorite with everyone but Ramsey is the #3 rated CB according to their metric. Sauce Gardner and Patrick Surtain only graded higher.
I personally think his decline isn’t there yet.
Ramsey is a force to be reconned with I believe for years to come. But he’s no longer a lock down corner. He’d be the best SS in the league. Image the Rams with Ramsey at SS, Scott at FS, Durant at CB2 and a stud shut down corner at CB1. It may not occur next year but put wheels in motion to pursue this for 2024.

We'd have the most expensive safety in the league and nobody at CB1. Doesn't seem like a good idea.Ramsey is a force to be reconned with I believe for years to come. Well, I stated this in a few threads over the last year or so. So maybe me?Sharing the source is an excellent way to get the conversation going in multiple ways.
I dunno.. Minka Fitzpatrick is the best player in the Steejers secondary by far. He would be worth $20M a yr to that team I would think. We'd have the most expensive safety in the league and nobody at CB1. Doesn't seem like a good idea.
As I “tried” to express it ain’t happening next year and may take several years to execute but it starts with finding a young shut down corner (maybe 2023 2nd round or 2024 1st round) and working Durant into a starting role. Then work towards the lineup I suggested. We'd have the most expensive safety in the league and nobody at CB1. Doesn't seem like a good idea.
