Oh my goodness the angst over this.

Again.

9 targets. 3 catches. THIRTY SEVEN YARDS.

This wasn't Holt being put to the sideline. It is a guy who is on the bubble and now will be gone.

Good thing he doesn't have one of those huge NBA style contracts.

Great gunner who was showing well on offense thus far with McVay. It's disappointing, but it's only four games.

This is too bad for the player and the Rams. Competition is good and this kid looked like he might have a break out year. Just hope it's not weed, because that is stupid and legal in some states now
Weed is Legal in California. But I believe it's still substance abuse as far as the NFL is concerned!

Maybe, the Rams Cut him. Sign him to the Practice Squad. and then bring him back after his suspension is up! IF they can do that!?!

Which is one of the stupidest things ever, not part of any other sports drug testing policy.

it's the nfl's bargaining chip - you want us to get rid of this, what are you gonna give us in return?

these old billionaire pricks didn't become rich by giving their power away. all about the money for them.

I know many of you remember this Thomas Video that was Posted April 22, 2017

Why Mike Thomas switched from #13 to #88

I was rooting for the 2nd year kid like everyone else and I even had Thomas rated as the Rams 5th rated WR "value to make the roster not too long ago in a WR post I released.

I also had some discussions with @jrry32 before the draft about how I didn't trust Thomas' hands and I told him that the Rams need to draft a deep threat specialist.

I thank the good heavens even more now that the Rams selected "deep threat" specialist Josh Reynolds. jrry and I both had him ranked in our top 5 day two WR draft rankings.

The Rams drafted Kupp who was jrry's #1 ranked day two WR from the the very beginning & I had him ranked #2 behind JuJu. When the Rams drafted Reynolds I sent jrry a msg that we got them both (Kupp and a deep threat specialist) we essentially exchanged "high fives" and were fired up.

(No, I'm not some WR expert giving myself props. I'm just an armchair fan that makes some good educated guesses by watching lots of game film and I'm guilty of making some bad evaluations as well. Kupp & Reynolds could both end up being just average or worse... If Goff fails I will be banned from giving college QB evaluations)

Anyway, the only reason I brought up pre-draft wide receiver memories is because I respect jrry's evaluations of WR's and the dedication, effort and homework he puts into the draft process. @StealYoGurley had some really good WR pre-draft Intel as well.

Back to Mike Thomas..... If he indeed tested positive for PED's, I feel bad that he took that gamble. I might have done it myself at his age wanting badly to excel and do everything I could to make an impact in my 2nd year in the NFL.

I'm not judging Thomas because I believe he was on a mission to be great and sadly it cost him by getting caught attempting to take a shortcut. Thomas rolled the dice and tried to get every advantage he could and now he's fallen down the depth chart. Unless McVay is forgiving and believes in him, Thomas might never catch another regular season pass as a Ram in his career. :(

Lol the reactions in here are ROUGH!!! I agree it's disappointing news and a tough break (especially bc I'm willing to bet just about everyone in the league is on something), but for all we know it could have been an adderall bust. I'm not ready to write him off, but it does make his odds of making the team A LOT lower.

He'll get another chance but it might well not be with the Rams..Seems like Mcvay doesn't cut any slack with crap like this...Of course if it was Aaron Donald it would be different...Sorry, life isn't fair, Mike..

wow well looks like Pharoah Cooper and Nelson Spruce will be making the team after all and there might not be any surprising cuts at WR

I would literally throw up... But Hey... that's just like my Opinion... man.

well NOW it will be easier to distinguish this mike thomas and the one who went to ohio state

So totally true.

I'm not one for knee jerk, "cut him now" type reactions but this kid didn't exactly earn himself much benefit of the doubt with his (limited) opportunities last year.

Not the smartest move.

But, McVay will have seen enough of him (and certainly will during training camp) to decide whether it's worth keeping him around.
