I've liked what I've seen from Whittington when he's been given the opportunity. He just doesn't get many.
Seems a little stiff running his routes, keep in mind he was a running back in high school, in addition to, even though his 40 time was strong (4.47) his acceleration and top-end speed are checkered at best. I look at Whittington as an option for jet sweeps and bootlegs more than a primary or even secondary option in the passing game.

Your top 5 could be adequate. I like Whit but his value is on ST. Daniels could contribute but not likely until late in the year or next year. The minute Nacua or DAdams become unavailable there’s a problem.
The key word there is "or". What happened last year when we were missing one of them? 13 P and fantastic success. With that TE room, is it really a problem? The offense averaged 33 PPG the 4 weeks combined, those two guys missed. The TE production?

Week 7 (Puka out): 8 rec; 101 yds; 1 TD / Rams 35 Jax 7 (Davante 5- 35 yds- 3 TD)
Week 16 (Adams out): 7 rec; 78 yds; 1 TD / Rams 37 Seattle 38 (Puka 10-76- 1 TD)
Week 17 (Adams out): 8 rec; 107 yds; 1 TD / Rams 24 Atlanta 27 (Puka 5-47- 1 TD)
Week 18 (Adams out): 9 rec; 127 yds; 3 TD / Rams 37 Arizona 20 (Puka 12-225- 2 TD)

That's some damn good TE production (and #1 WR production). It isn't Travis Kelce but a combo of 4, soon to be 5.

32 rec; 413 yds; 5 TD
Per game average 8-103-1+ TD / 33 PPG

That was knock on him before the draft. He’s a boundary WR which I am not sure works in our scheme, as we have so many crossing routes.
Thomas has the ability to do everything you want outside the hash, but he's one of those guys who lacks the right mentality and focus to sustain it. Talent alone is not enough at this level. You need to be a pro as it pertains to the discipline and dedication as well if you want to be great.

Maybe he'll realize that and get his mind right at some point. But I don't think dudes like that are fits for McVay.

I’m an unapologetic Rams fanatic. As such, I’ll always be looking for the Rams to explore options to improve. The smart, patient move may be to save any significant 2026 roster upgrades for the trade deadline but Im neither smart nor patient.
Last year, I saw the Rams live at Baltimore. Once Nacua went down, they had to rely on a stellar defensive showing to shut down the Ravens. And the Ravens were down to their QB2/then QB3 options since Lamar Jackson was out. Jackson playing could have easily resulted in a loss. I’d have prefered the Rams had a WR2B that could’ve covered for the loss of Nacua. That’s the kind of depth and dominance I want for the Rams over the next 2 years while they still have Stafford.

Was it the lack of a WR2B or a team unprepared to play minus a Puka centric gameplan that day (Plus the wind and Davante's drops)?

Enter the TE packages the following week.

I’m greedy and would like to see both.
You probably want a 90 man roster as well. There’s going to be some tough cuts already.

You have heard of a salary cap.Beat you open all your Christmas Prizes on Christmas Eve.

I met the surgeon general - he offered me a cigarette.
I drink too much. The last time I gave a urine sample it had an olive in it.
My cousin's gay, he went to London only to find out that Big Ben was a clock.

Well yes - I lost that beat. Still don’t see The Rams making a Big Time Trade anytime soon.

You(we) can look at the ROOSTER!!
Squawk away at it.I’ll keep drumming about the song & dancing.

There’s only time before Big Ben stands straight up.His suit will be gold(HOF)! Maybe you might want to see if that runs in the family.I’ll keep happy, but glad I get respect.

Wondering about the cigarette & the olive ? Maybe it came out the wrong hole.Might want to test again.Sounds like the cigarette might have been laced & you had more than a brain far ? Hope you passed. If you tested again, you might want to not leave a sample, but the real test.Might come up with a different answer.

The Atlanta game was where we needed a WR2. Our offense wasn't that good for a lot of that game. TEs tried to make up for it but not having Davante near the goal line really hurt us. Same with the Seattle game too. We scored 9 points inside the 20 on 3 of our first 4 times in the red zone.

Losing that game hurt us in more ways than one. That loss was a big ouch.

I remember. That was the game we punted on our first possession, went for it on 4th down on our second (and failed) then threw a pick 6 on our 3rd possession. Another punt and another pick on the next two left us down 21-0 at the half. I don't know having Adams, Puka, Kupp and Ike Bruce would have won that game.

I think having Adams would have been a big help but we will never know

The depth seems fine:

Nacua (6'2" 216)
Adams (6'1" 204)
Whittington (6'1" 202)
Mumpfield (6'1" 188)
Danials (6'2" 202)

They seem to be of a certain type of body design

The exception....Xavier (5'9" 180)

The rest......

Edwards (6'3" 211)
Scott (5'11" 185)
Williams (5'9" 178)
Presley (5'8" 174)

3 like Xavier, 1 like the other 5

I'm pretty sure Mumpfield is only 5'10"
