At the end of the day, all is good with the QB situation in Rams-land. I mean the backups are solid.
Ok, so the 1 guy is suspended for drugs and the other guy missed a season because he was in rehab but other than that, we're good!!!

Let’s agree on what we are calling Jimmy G since he’s now a Ram. For now I’ll still refer to him as ‘Jimmy G-String’ but I’ll conform
I .... just ..... can't....

He will always be Crapola to me.

That whiner stink just doesn't wash off.

But…if he plays (hopefully, he won’t) he’ll be OUR Crapola.

I do like the variety though, as every one of them is fitting...lol!

Should Garoppolo step in for Stafford and help the Rams win a game, guessing most posters on this Forum will quickly become fans and be very complimentary of our back-up quarterback.

Personally, although I hate all things Niners, I can't be too critical of Jimmy Garoppolo.

For me, it's like looking in a mirror ...

There was some discussions about Trevor Lawrence on this thread six weeks ago. Whether Jacksonville would stick with him long-term; and what he needed to show for a big extension.

Lawrence just signed a 5-year / $275M extension, with $200M reported to be guaranteed.

Anybody thinking he wouldn't get a deal really wasn't being objective and thinking about what it would mean to that team. Also there were a couple people really upset with me when I said Jefferson's deal would also be broken because that's the way contracts work :D The next guy gets more and now Lawrence who some thought wouldn't get a deal is now the highest paid QB in AAV.

I’m not sure why anyone would pine for Lawrence. To date he’s been a JAG. Going forward, without a huge step up or two, he’ll be a massively overpaid JAG.

Probably overpaid but the waxed mustache seems to have always wanted to show he fit in with the big boys of NFL ownership.

Lawrence is a very good QB and still young. As I think @OldSchool mentioned - and I'm paraphrasing at best - you jump on a contract early and what looks like a huge over pay becomes a wise move when the next big contracts come up.

If the guy pans out, you look wise. If he doesn't... you're fired as the scapegoat anyway so... might as well spend OPM on someone that might make you look wise. Meanwhile, mustachio looks like a guy willing to spend money to build a team while they're rebuilding his stadium. He can't lose.

One nice thing about Jimmy is if he does by any chance end up playing vs the Shitters he will almost surely play lights out for us. Always sort of works that way.

Also I am fully off the dude's nuts about that Shitter association. He's a Ram now. I don't want to see him in there if it is avoidable, but if we do need our QB2 we're in damn fine shape compared to the rest of the league. As QB2s go he's near the top of that list.

Jimmy G is a good QB. I am glad he's a Ram. Backup QB is very important. Starters get injured all the time. We've seen it with Stafford and also around the league. I think last season was a new NFL record for the number of different QBs that started a game? If you don't have a capable backup, you are one injury away from a completely derailed season. Jimmy G has proven he can win a lot of games in the NFL and go deep into the playoffs for a strong roster. Very good backup to have. And if he is still in Horns when Stafford moves on, he really lets us bide our time, he'd be a very capable bridge QB as the front office looks for the next franchise corner stone. It lets the Rams avoid panic moves at QB.

I don't care that he is a former 49er. I actually prefer it because he might have intel. It's not like he was a big 49er booster while he was there and bad mouthed the Rams. Or cheap-shotted Rams players. Etc. There are some 49ers I'd never want for those kinds of reasons. Jimmy G is not on that list.
